[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Good morning, today I did a test with my machine compared to the new Macbook Pro MAX, see the results below. In Metal, my 5700xt still wins, but loses in single core and multi core. But I have doubts, if these results when compared to desktop, a Macbook Max would have more performance than my I9 9900? this difference, I think is still not worth the cost of an eventual exchange.

It should be quite straightforward to do an in-place upgrade from 0.6.1 to 0.7.4. Alternatively, compress and post your 0.6.1 EFI folder after removing serial numbers from config.plist and I’ll update it.
I'm going to take you up on the offer. Attached my two machines from my sig with serials removed. i will test with USB and hopefully will work Monday with new macOS.

Understood. Comments:
  • Let's use the OpenCore 0.7.4 EFI folder from this thread with all the original Drivers, Kexts, etc. that are in the ZIP file.
  • Because you have Catalina, let's change SecureBootModel to Disabled. Do you know how to do that?
    • We can use OpenCore Configurator 2.52.0.0 (set to 0.7.4 Release Version) like this:

Again thanks.
SecureBootModel set to Disabled : Done
USB always crash soon after boot begin

thank you. I think the serial code generation went well.
I have a question about a plist file. Since I am using AMD RX6800, do I need to rename "config-AMD-GPU.plist" to "config.plist"? Should I also delete config-Intel-iGPU.plist?
Because you have an AMD GPU, simply rename config-AMD-GPU.plist to config.plist and add serial numbers into the file. The other file (config-Intel-iGPU.plist) can stay; it will be ignored by OpenCore.

I've followed the quick guide for a fresh installation of macOS 10.16 Big Sur, but there are still some uncertainties. Which guide should I refer to?
Please answer, I'm sorry for the many questions.
Is Big Sur installation finished? If so, just check the following:
  • Does the system sleep and wake properly?
  • Do you get sound from a headphone plugged into the back or front of the computer?
  • Do your Thunderbolt devices connect and work?
  • Does WiFi work?
  • Do your Bluetooth devices connect and work?

Again thanks.

  • Please make a duplicate copy of your EFI folder from the USB install disk. In the duplicate copy, remove serial numbers from PlatformInfo --> DataHub section, then compress and post.
  • Also boot your system via internal SSD (Clover) and post a screenshot of the /Library/Extensions folder.

Hai @CaseySJ , been using my Machine without my Rx 580 for few weeks, I gave it for servicing and they said its unrepairable and also they don't have the same card for replacement. So they decided to refund my purchase amount. Looks like i have to buy another graphics card. Right now I am using the Inbult HDMI port of my Z390 designare. Will i be able to connect more displays without additional graphics card?....If it's neccessary to buy a new card what would be the best choice for my system?....Can you pls suggest me a card for a budget of around RX 580?...
The UHD630 iGPU can drive 3 external displays:
  • Thunderbolt Port 1 --> use a USC-C to DisplayPort cable --> connect to DP monitor
  • Thunderbolt Port 2 --> use a USC-C to DisplayPort cable --> connect to DP monitor
  • HDMI port --> use HDMI to HDMI cable --> connect to HDMI monitor
If you would like to buy an AMD GPU, unfortunately they will all be extremely expensive. These cards are supported:
  • RX 4xx
  • RX 5xx
  • RX 5xxx
  • RX 6800, 6800 XT, 6900 XT
These cards are not supported at this time:
  • RX 6700, RX 6700 XT
  • RX 6600, RX 6600 XT

These RX560s work OOB like the 580 does. It's a small downgrade in terms of performance but at least they don't cost 600-700 USD like many RX 580s do today. You can easily run triple monitors with one of these. Use it as a placeholder until AMD RDNA2 prices come back down, sometime. Who knows when.

Asus-Prime-X299-Deluxe-II.
Are there any requirements for the BIOS version of lightning hot plug. You didn't mention here. Is it possible to realize hot plug in the latest BIOS of 3501?
I am not very familiar with Asus Prime X299 Deluxe II, but please search the thread below and feel free to post your question there:
