[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Yes with Clover/macOS/Windows10 but NOT with the OpenCore menu. So I can't choose any entry
So you're using Apple Keyboard and TrackPad in Bluetooth mode?
But mouse is USB?
Does the TrackPad work?

Do all of these devices work when you boot into macOS with OpenCore?
In other words, they fail only at the OpenCore boot menu?

Please post a screenshot of your OpenCore Kexts and Drivers and ACPI folders.

Do you think the solution for TbtOnPci is very similar to solution for TbtOnPch? The Apple SSDTs that I have seen contain some significant differences.
You mean TbtOnPEG ? .. It seem to be closed to PCH with some added method for power management like PUPD () .. very closed to dGPU power management !

Attached SSDT of last MBP16,1

Some questions:
  • Because you're installing Mojave, at what Step is the restart occurring? Step numbers are listed in Installation Overview.
  • What is the make/model of your RX 580?
  • What is the make/model of your monitor?
  • Are all the BIOS parameters set correctly? Remember that we must start with Load Optimized Defaults.
  • Do you see a lot of log messages on the screen while macOS boots up? In other words, is verbose mode enabled by adding -vflag in "Boot Arguments"?
    • If so, do you see any error message before the restart?
    • If the log messages fly by very quickly, it may be helpful to take a video of the boot process with your smartphone and upload the video (just make sure it's not too large!).
  • Also feel free to compress and upload the CLOVER folder from EFI partition of your USB install disk.

- After I format the SSD in Phase1, I click install Mojave and chose SSD drive. It begins and gets down to 2 minutes and then restarts (which you said is normal), then when Clover comes back. I click on boot in install Mojave SSD drive. This is when it will begin working but will always restart. Sometimes it restarts with 13 min, 12. Once I got it all the way under one minute left, it restarts.
- Sapphire 11265-01-20g Radeon Nitro+ RX 580 8 GB GDDR5 is my graphics card
- I have a AOC- I'm not quite sure what model it is.
- I believe the BIOS parameters are correct. I had followed your guide and did what you did. And yes i started with Loading optimized defaults. But i could do it all again.
- I'm new to hackintosh- but yes I believe I see a lot of log messages. I will try to take a picture or video.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, TbtOnPEG...

(I was looking at a 2017 MacBook Air 7,2 [Thunderbolt 2] where it's called PcieTbt.)

This could be normal as well. After this restart, do you again choose the Boot Install option from Mojave SSD?

Update: Your CLOVER folder looks good.

Yes they fail only at the OpenCore boot menu
Can you please answer all of the questions?
  • Is Apple Keyboard connected via Bluetooth? Or by USB cable?
    • If Bluetooth, have you tried connecting it via USB cable?
  • OpenCore boot menu uses only a text screen (not a GUI) so only keyboard will work, but not mouse or trackpad.
  • Which Apple Keyboard do you have? There is a part number printed on the back side.

Yes, I chose the Boot install from Mojave SSD.
I'm trying to get there now, but it keeps restarted. Can't take video of errors.

@yellocab

Because you're using an Apple USB keyboard, it should definitely work at the OpenCore boot menu. Can you please post a screenshot of your OpenCore drivers folder? There should be a file called either UsbKbDxe.efi or AppleUsbKbDxe.efi.

Hi all,

I'm still able to be on multiple front ;) and thanks for all theses help proposition !
Of course you're welcome to multi-task! If it gets too chaotic please let me know. Most people viewing this thread are owners of Designare Z390, so my main concern is to minimize (but not stop) distractions.
