No, the configuration is different. I had to buckle down and learn how to make the kext...
I'll see if I can find it (machine belongs to a friend, so I'll ask him)

Thanks, I'd really appreciate it!

Is it ok to use the XHC USB kext for the Asus X299 Sage 10G on my non-10G mobo?

Usually you can use Hackintool to create a USB Kext then manually start editing and truncate to 15 ports maximum and cleaning up.

Then use IOReg to test each port by adding/removing USB devices like a simple thumb drive.

A USB3.0 port counts as 2 ports for example (1xUSB2 backwards compatible + 1x USB3)
A USB2.0 port counts as 1 port for example (1x USB2)
A USB3.1Gen 2 (USB-C or USB-A) counts as 2 ports.

As long as that board/bios allows you to unlock MSR, that should be fine. I have been using a MSI x299 Raider with a 7920x for over a year now with no complaints.
Thanks @PurdueRph for your help! :)
About Thunderbolt 3, do you think it will be without issues too? No need special SSDT or something like that?
Many thanks

Hilariously the overclocked 9980XE (@4.4Ghz on all cores, soon to be @4.5/4.6 once watercooling is updated) is VERY close in CPU perf compared to the $20,000+ 28c version of the Mac Pro.

Also can always add a second Radeon VII/W5700XT. More nVME/SSD, more RAM (256GB with latest 10980XE)

And also hilariously the 3175x will show up on the used market once the 64c AMD processors come through for super cheap.

The Mac Pro is already dated since coming out. Indeed the target market will eat it up because they have disposable income. But technology wise it's already dated.

Just to make sure you understand, I got the MSI x299 Raider to work following KGP's Guide. https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...ojave-successful-build-extended-guide.255082/

I never tried to get Thunderbolt to work on my board, but from what I have seen/read you will need to follow the steps under E.9.2.13) - GC-Titan Ridge / GC-Alpine Ridge / ASUS TBEX 3 Thunderbolt HotPlug System Implementation:

Good Luck
