[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

This EFI folder is also correct. Just got back from an invigorating morning workout so I'm trying to catch up. Please let me know your current status.
  • Is the macOS installer still failing to launch? Does it hit a black screen part way through the boot up process?
  • Is the AMD GPU completely removed from the system?
  • Are you on BIOS F8?
  • Are you using an HDMI cable from rear HDMI port to your monitor (no adapters)?
  • What is the make/model of your monitor?
  • Is your Fenvi card in the bottom short slot?

you’re good, I am on
F8 Bios
Using HDMI I also tried UCB c to DP
I tried 2 monitors benQ 24in 1080p
As well as LG 4K 27in
Fenvi is in bottom short slot
GPU completely removed

I am getting hung up when the verbose ends and swaps to apple logo with progress bar it just doesn’t move and looks discolored with a purple hue and doesn’t load any progress.

would you like exact model numbers of all 3 monitors I have
32in curve Samsung 4k. U32R590CWN
27in LG 4k. 27UD69P-W
24in benQ 1080p. GW2480-T
attached photo of what the hang screen looks like

I am using a Focusrite 2i2 2nd Gen Scarllett audio interface which is attached through the back USB ports. It is a 2.0 Audio interface. I have the issue that i am hearing crackling/noise through my studio monitors attached to the interface. The noise sounds like a ground loop hum. It is not there when i restart or turn on the computer but it becomes active some period of time. I noticed that it happens as soon as i launch Logic Pro X for example.

I have the Focusrite Clarett 2pre and, moving from my Macbook Air (laptop) to my hackintosh, the same thing happened to me. Eventually I found a posting in a different forum suggesting that you have to replace your TS cables (from the Clarett to the studio monitors) with TRS cables. As soon as I did, all the static and popping went away.

I'm not an electrical engineer, but I read that TS cables have a positive & ground line, while TRS have a positive, negative, and ground. There must be some type of interence that gets cleared up with that negative line. (Why it never happened with my Macbook Air laptop though, I have no idea...)

Please replace your config.plist with the attached version. I've given you new serial numbers so please do not change anything -- just plug-and-play. Let me know whether it makes any difference. Rename the file to config.plist.

Been studying the gIOScreenState problem...
I added the injectIntel and fakeID as UHD630, 0x3E980003
updated to BIOS F8, followed the setup in #1, but with the DVMT allocated set to 128MB
and i also removed the fenvi wifi card and removed the device properties,
this time i got a new error, which is:
** In memory panic stackshot succeeded ** Bytes Traced 254992 **
Hello @issssac

Are you trying to install Catalina using the Catalina Mini-Guide?

If so, we need to remove the RX 5700 XT and connect the monitor via HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the rear IO panel of the motherboard. You may replace the config.plist in the EFI partition of your USB install disk with the attached version, but rename it to config.plist. Nothing needs to be changed. Just plug and play.

Understood. Please compress and upload the CLOVER folder from:
  • USB install disk
  • Internal SSD
In both cases you may remove serial numbers from the SMBIOS section of config.plist.

I will be able to share the USB install disk Clover folder. But as system is not bootable won’t be able to share that information stored on SSD. If there is any other way I can do it, do let me know will give it a try.

I will share the information soon.

Thanks

Thanks. So I have been trying different things for a while. I think I've found the issue. It was a ground loop it seems. I had an Elgato Thunderbolt 2 dock just plugged into the power socket, nothing connected to it. I have been using it with my MacBook pro 15' to reduce the cable clutter with my desktop setup. Anyways, I just unplugged the Elgato dock and the noise disappeared.

On a side note, I actually had the Scarlett Solo a while back and that one only had RCA cable (was a quality cable as well) connections. I had a ground loop issue with my MacBook so I changed to a balanced TRS cable which solved it at the time.

One thing I changed in my config which had one positive effect is turning on high current USB in the devices configuration. I am now also able to select a larger sampling rate in the Audio MIDI Setup for the Audio Interface. I was always falling back to 44.1KHz before i enabled this option. Might be helpful to someone in this 10K pages thread.

The problem you're facing seems to be due to a bad memory fix driver in the CLOVER/drivers/UEFI folder. You will have to be able to mount the EFI partition of USB install disk and use a different driver such as:
  • OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi
or both of these files:
  • OcQuirks-4.efi
  • FwRuntimeServices.efi

** Catalina Fresh Install Mini-Guide Has Been Updated Based on Latest Findings **

I can boot my PowerColor RX 5700 XT with WhateverGreen and agdpmod=pikera, but it requires some voodoo magic that is present in the newly uploaded config files.

Okay, you're using the correct config.plist. Here's the relevant entry that enables iGPU. Now you know why I don't like to post CLOVER folders in build guides, because the whole thing becomes an opaque black box where no one knows what's inside the files and why...

P.S. Have you made a full bootable backup yet???

Ok, I adjusted my USB disk config.plist to this:

Screen Shot 2019-12-08 at 15.57.45.png

Is it correct?

But I don't know where I can found these other settings that you mentioned:
  • HDMI port is enabled at Index 3 (port 7) with BusID=0x04 and Type=HDMI
  • DP port at Index 1 (port 5) is changed to BusID=0x01
Yes I have a full bootable bckp just in case hahahhaha
