To everyone who downloaded the Catalina Mini-Guide ZIP file:

• The config.plist is missing 2 important settings, both in the ACPI section. We need to drop two tables:
  • DMAR
  • MATS
• Please do this manually as follows:
  
  
• Perform the 3 steps shown for both DMAR and MATS. MATS is the last one on the pop-up list.
• The result should look like this:
  
  
• Save the file and reboot.
• NOTE: Catalina 10.15.1 cannot be installed with the RX 5700 or RX 5700 XT. Use iGPU or alternative AMD GPU instead. When installation is complete, install the RX 5700 (XT) and it should be plug-and-play.

Finally:

• The ZIP file in Catalina Mini-Guide has been updated.
• Post 10821 has also been updated.

Just attempted this and still receiving the panic from before **In Memory Panic Stackshot Succeeded** Bytes Traced 271472**

I grabbed a slow movie of the verbose to try to watch it back and see what errors I could spot. If you want me to share a portion of it, I don't know what could be causing it.

I have some trailer that definitely is protected.

In this documentation for Shiki, a downloadable trailer is linked. I believe it's FairPlay 1.0. Depending on your config you can't play this video. I noticed in the past that if you play remotely, it gets blocked out unlike other videos (which lag bad because VNC is not meant for video, but they play).

I did find some good results though.

I tested with iGPU on and off with an iMac19,1 SMBIOS and WEG 1.3.5.

TEST 1 = Protected (FairPlay 1.0?) movie trailer file in QuickTime from Shiki manual
TEST 2 = Amazon Prime Trailer (Safari)
TEST 3 = Amazon Prime Trailer (Firefox)
TEST 4 = Apple TV+ 7 day trial TV show (not movie)

From this, it would be great to get feedback on Netflix and Apple TV+ movies. The Apple TV+ exclusive shows were free to watch with the trial but not the movies so I didn't test those.

The only case where everything I tested worked was headless iGPU enabled with shikigva=16 and no shiki-id spoof. Nothing got Safari to play the Amazon trailer with iGPU off.

Just tried shikigva=16 , and can't play DRM content (Amazon Prime) as before in Safari. In Firefox it's OK,

I'm using iGPU on, iMac19,1 SMBIOS and WEG 1.3.5. Mojave 10.14.6

my hardware:

with 1TB 970 evo plus, NZXT x62 water cooler, 16GBx4 tridentZ neo DDR4-3600, fenvi FV-t919, NZXT H510i case

I wanted to have a fresh install with Catalina 10.15.1. I tried the guide mentioned in #10821, which with I have no luck with rx5700xt and Fenvi installed.
I also followed page 1081-1088, removed the rx5700xt and fenvi wifi card,
trying to go for the iGPU method. I also added the 2 tables: DMAR, MATS in the config.plist already.

As I going through the first boot, quickly after the line: gIOScreenLockState 3
my screen go black completely and without response.

This is the video when the error occurred, if that's any help.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still working on this and should have another update later in the day.

Sadly it didn't work, hanging in the same spot.

Tried a couple of new things:

• Moved the 5700 XT to the second PCI slot and updated the BIOS
• Tried the 10.15.2 Beta 4 (released yesterday)

Nothing worked. hahahahha!

• I am once again installing Catalina from scratch using only the iGPU.
• No problem starting the installer (second time today with no problem).
• Currently showing 8 minutes remaining.

Please compress and upload the CLOVER folder from your USB install disk.

EDIT: Installation successful yet again (no RX 5700; only iGPU with HDMI 2.0 cable).


Perhaps we cannot trust this...it shows 60Hz from onboard HDMI whereas the motherboard spec is 30Hz max at 4K.
