[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hello Everybody ! I hope you are enjoying your hackintosh !

I enjoyed mine a lot, helping my video creation workflow fantastically ! And this is with a lot of fear right now that I'm writing those words because my hackintosh does not work anymore.

Let me explain the context. I woke up this morning, and when I came in the computer room, the fan were going nuts. I was like, wtf ? I stopped the computer right away, and then I saw that I had left a glass of water on the table, and my cat made it fall. The keyboard mouse and trackpad had water bellow, but after testing them with my macbook I'm writing with right now they all work. No water has fallen on the ground neither on the computer (there was only a bit of water and the table is big).

The issue is that when I start the computer, if I'm connected on the graphic card, I lose signal on my screen right after the the clover window, and if I disconnect the graphic card and boot connected to the motherboard I have a scary kernel error. I tried to film and take pictures of all the code to share it here as I'm completely lost. My computer was still on this night, I was downloading torrent and nothing else, so I have absolutely no idea of what happened to make the fan goes nut and why now it always crash on start.

I really hope someone here will be able to help me ...

Thanks @CaseySJ for such nice advices. Below is my status and actions:
  1. Bluetooth
    • I deleted BrcmPatchRAM2.kext and BrcmFirmwareData.kext from CLOVER/kext/other.
    • There is no bluetooth icon in my preferences & tool bar (I put the attached screen shot 1)
  2. Vega 56
    • I exprienced some sudden screen black out -> find out that was a bug of old model LG ultrafine 5k -> fixed
  3. Shutdown and Restart
    1. Yes, I did installed the EmuVariable as your intrusion, but still don't get the expected result yet
    2. Both restart & shutdown show some lines (attached), after that the monitor goes black, and all internal fan keep running -> nothing happens next
How do you think?
Let’s address Bluetooth first. In System Preferences —> Bluetooth, please check-on the box at the bottom of the window so that Bluetooth icon appears in the menu bar. Then try the procedure to reset the Bluetooth module.

If this does not work or there is no Debug option in the Bluetooth menu, it might be good to reset CMOS so that the BIOS rescans the system for attached devices and rebuilds the device tree. The CMOS Reset procedure is described in the Designare user’s manual.

Could you but instead with your UniBeast stick and then choose the usual Mac partition?

Hello @Mattioo,

This might be a simple problem (let’s hope). Some questions:
  • Do you have the USB install disk or a bootable backup disk?
  • If so, please try booting from USB or the backup disk. Press F12 at the BIOS Splash screen and select the disk from the boot menu.
  • Then Clover will appear. Choose the option to “Boot macOS from Mojave”.
  • Does the screen go black? Does the system crash?
  • Also, have you disabled the MSR 0xE2 register by following the Mini Guide? Disabling this register is not necessary, but if you did choose to disable it, what version of BIOS was running at the time (F6)? And what version of BIOS is running now?

Arf! I need to create the USB install disk again as I erased it. I have a Time Machine save of my hackintosh but no bootable backup disk, either. As soon as my disk is done, I will try it and give you update thanks !

Pretty strange issue which I cant see addressed anywhere. I have pretty much the same build as you - i bought the same hardware except a VEGA64 (GTX2080ti in disabled slot) and a 9900K. So far everything is perfect ...except. If i install istat menu or i use hwmonitor (fakesmc) then if i click on the CPU dropdown in istats or the menubar item with hwmonitor there is a brief beachball and almost like a system stutter. There is lag in bringing down the menu item. If i keep clicking on it.. there is this definite micro pause.

It doesnt happen for example with the non CPU stats dropdowns in istats, it's JUST the CPU.
It feels like there is some piece of info being retrieved and is taking time, or there is a timeout.
Its really hard to explain, wondering if its fakesmc/sensor related... or if its something else.

I've considered just not using istats (its not essential) or moving from fakesmc to virtualSMC to see if that fixes, but its weird how i cant find anything about it anywhere - makes it feel like it's just me !
So I noticed this same thing. Basically a process was crashing and the spindump was running to collect the stats. This is what caused the delay.

I moved to VirtualSMC and the issue went away.

Yes, I would love to access the Bluetooth in System Preference but it is not there. And I could not find it in System Preference view -> customize neither.

I will try to reset my CMOS, and see what happens.

Edit 1: just wondering @CaseySJ, what is your bios version?

Hello ! Thank you for this great work , congratulations !
This morning I installed a PCI Wifi BT card (compatible Hackintosh). It works well. On the other hand I have since lost the connection of LG's 5K Ultrafine monitor via the Thunderbolt port. This connection worked well until now, although sometimes standby problems appeared (immediate wake-up). I do not quite understand what happened. :(

Finally I could boot from the USB key and everything seems normal and nothing is broken.

Wow, and I just tried again without the USB key and it works too.

What was the issue ?

Ok maybe I talked too quicky, the computer crash after 10min being awake. Direct black screen, keyboard cant turn caps lock on, but the computer itself fans etc seems on.

And I still have that kernel error randomly.

And everytime I log in, I have an icloud connection issue. It asks that I reconnect to my icloud account, and then I need to accept from another device this new computer.
