pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

It looks like a USB problem. Please try your USB flash drive in different USB ports or try different USB flash drive.

Also, try deleting the SSDT-USBX.aml file in /EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched/.

Changed to a different slot and booted into install (with some errors running quickly). Now the PCIe m2 drive is not found from the install nor the disk utility.

Tired with not only PCIe m2 drive but also a SATA HDD, boot and see both in Bios, but none shown in Disk Utility except for the usb pendrive.

(Also, the clover menu changes to different theme each time, cool : O! )

May be time to dust off that Z390 board @pastrychef ! I'm finally running my Z390 Aorus Master with native NVRAM and AptioMemoryFix.efi. I shared my specifics in @CaseySJ 's thread as this was the first I had heard of any success.

Do you have XHCI handoff enabled in BIOS?
Is IOAPIC 24-119 disabled in BIOS?

Cool!

I've seen a few other Z390 users with working NVRAM but I don't know what actually triggers it to work... Do you know which release of AptioMemoryFix you are using?

When you are in Disk Utility, make sure to enable "Show all devices".

I am experimenting with having some control over my AIO Water Cooler in OSX (NZXT Kraken x62)

To do it I have to enable one of the internal USB ports though (no idea how to count them)

I have the following ports disabled in Clover:
uia_exclude=HS08;HS09;HS10;HS11;HS13;HS14;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10

If I remove HS13 from that list will I still be under the 15 limit?

You can use:
Code:
uia_exclude=HS08;HS09;HS10;HS11;HS14;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10;USR1;USR2

I'm working on USB as well. Before I break something, maybe I should ask...

I'm assuming I still need to reduce ports to 15. The last time I did this for my Gigabyte board, I created a DSDT file but now I see Hackintool. I never used it before and am a little confused.

Pastry, I'm using your EFI. Do I delete the ports from Hackintool and that's it? Is there a limit patch installed that I need to remove? Or is the EFI good as is?

And for an internal USB 3 header, if it goes to two ports, it counts as two...not one, correct?

And USBInjectAll stays in place?

You can use:
Code:
uia_exclude=HS08;HS09;HS10;HS11;HS14;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10;USR1;USR2
Adding the USR's will disable the Red USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports in the back right? It's only a disadvantage for those who own 3.1Gen2 external SSD's? I dont have any, for now, so I'll do that, thanks very much!

Hi @pastrychef I really like your setup, great job
I have one doubt and I need your "doctor" advice...
Would you recommend for graphic (I will use it mainly for video editing, FCPX)
2 x vega 56
2 x vega 64
or
Radeon VII

I would really appreciate your advice, pls help
I'm not a FCPX user... But, based on the BruceX benchmarks I've seen, Vega 56 offers much more "bang for the buck" than Vega 64. On average, I see Vega 64 users report ~12 seconds and Vega 56 users ~14 seconds for BruceX.

Radeon VII support still isn't quite fully optimized yet and BruceX scores seem to be about the same as the Vegas. I suspect that it will improve when the new Mac Pros are released. By how much is anyone's guess...
FYI since OSX 10.14.5 and FCP 10.4.6 my Bruce X result with a single Vega64 is 6seconds which is 2x faster than the average Vega56 results.

There is very little reports/info on the % benefit of dual GPU's, from what I have seen it's not worth it.
If you're in a hurry getting a single Vega64 would be my advice, if not wait a bit more so we can have more reports on Radeon 7, the difference between a V64 and R7 shouldn't be more than 15-20% though, if that's worth double the price depends on your personal view.
