[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

New LG 5K2K widescreen display w/HDR @CaseySJ is the TH3 input on this monitor of any use with the Designare TH3 ? I believe that UHD 630 can't output 5K/60 or am I incorrect ?
Rendition of Apple's rumored Thunderbolt 3 Display...

Hello,

I recently installed macOS on my new Z390 Designare MB using your guide. The installation almost works but there seems to be something wrong with Clover itself.

1.) The "Mac OS Recovery" icon is not shown at first attempt. It appears if I push the left and right keys a few times and the smaller icons in the second row appear mis-fitted. Changing the theme does not solve this. When Clover is loaded after a reboot, everything appears well but not after turning on the PC.

2.) I have an external Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 USB audio device. If the audio device is turned off before booting, the system starts as usual. If it is still turned on, only a black screen appears after choosing macOS in clover. No text output, no kernel panic and no other error information. It makes no difference if the device is plugged into another USB port. Booting other operating systems with the device turned on is no problem.

Has anybody an idea if these issues could be caused by wrong BIOS settings or incompatible EFI files in drivers64UEFI?

Can you please provide the following:
  • Compress and upload your CLOVER folder (you may remove Serial Number from SMBIOS of config.plist).
  • Screenshot of /Library/Extensions folder.

Bottom line, I now don't trust nor use any of the x1 slots.

I must update my own quote. I mis-spoke. PCI x1 can work.

Today, I added an SATA expansion card to my build, using a x1 slot.

The Syba card works just fine (both in Mojave and Win 10). I bought the Syba 4-port, off Amazon (here). The 4 port version, adds sufficiently to the remaining 3 from the mobo (two M.2 slots are being used: one for macOS and one for Win 10, reducing the available SATA slots down to 3). Now I have a total of 7 SATA slots, more than enough for my needs.

I presently using 1 for a DVD/BluRay player (and CD ripper) and 4 for SSDs (I have internal backup SSD for the Mojave OS drive along with an SSD for a Roon high res streamer, plus some more drives for Photoshop).

Hi,
This build is great, the setup went on with ease, the only thing not working is the Bluetooth and will not boot with the 32GB of RAM (that's something I can sort out later).
I've put the files in the ACPI folder and made the changes in the BIOS, but after some research and several trials it just won't work ... has anybody got an idea?

Hi, are you referring to Bluetooth or Thunderbolt? Because “Thunderbolt Local Node” is not currently available on Hackintosh, the Thunderbolt section will always say “No drivers loaded” or words to that effect. Instead, you can check for Thunderbolt devices in the “PCI” section of System Information.

Amazing, thank you! (Package (0x1E))
Looks like I celebrated too soon. My custom SSDT doesn't seem to be read. Whether it is present in EFI/…/patched/ or not, I got always the same Output in IORegisteryExplorer.

I have removed USBInjectAll from /Library/Extensions/.

(Serial in config.plist is not the actual.)

you still need USBInjectAll with your custom SSDT in patched folder

Why there instead of in /Clover/kexts/other ?
because custom ssdt aml files belong in patched folder :) (should have mentioned aml file, sorry!)
