[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Cool - this is my Clover/Devices/Properties device section. I thought it was already configured to spoof 0x3E9B (with the device-id entry):

Okay I think we are finally getting somewhere...
  • Your IOReg screenshot and Hackintool screenshot both show:
    • Platform ID = 0x3E910003
    • Device ID = 0x3E98
  • But your Clover Configurator screenshot shows:
    • Platform ID = 0x3E920003
    • Device ID = 0x3E9B
It seems as if the config.plist you showed here is not the same as the one being booted...

Ha, wouldn't that just be ridiculous :) I am as positive as I can possibly be that I am booting from the config.plist in the EFI partition of my Mojave instance. There is no USB connected to the machine. There is one copy of the EFI folder, in a 'Success!!' directory on the desktop. This backup contains exactly the same EFI contents as the actual EFI partition. I'm using Clover Configurator to mount the EFI. Then opening the EFI/CLOVER/config.plist file.

Is there some way to reset/refresh something in case the old values are cached somewhere?

I think I found your problem. Can you spot it before opening the spoiler below? :)

See those uppercase letters in red?
<key>PCIRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0)</key>

I believe they should be lowercase, like the other entry you have in the file:
<key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)</key>

Aaaaaaand you've done it!!! All methods of verification show the iGPU is enabled and successfully spoofed. I can't thank you enough for your endless patience and perseverance and expertise and generosity with all the above. Words fail me :)

Glad to hear it! Little things mean a lot -- in this case two little letters!

The XFX RX 580 is not in Apple's recommended list. As I recall, the XFX RX 580 uses non-reference port layouts, which means that multi-monitor capability will be impacted. The Sapphire Pulse RX 580 is recommended instead.

  • I would recommend the Sapphire Pulse RX 580 over the WX 7100. (Avoid the Sapphire Nitro+.) I tend to recommend the RX 580 over the RX Vega as well because it works very well out-of-the-box. Vega cards often require custom fan and power settings, so you must be willing to spend some time to research and set up the Vega properly. All of these cards can run 4K at 60Hz.
  • I would also recommend the EVGA SuperNova over the EVGA Bq.
  • The rest of your selections are good.

@qmediaservices, I concur with @CaseySJ's recommendation of the Sapphire Pulse RX 580 8GB graphics card. It works OOB and is supported natively in High Sierra 1013.6 and Mojave. The others will probably cause you to pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time. :D

On the old card:
  • Have you connected the USB power cable to the motherboard F_USB header? This thread moves fast so I don't recall whether this was answered before.
  • When you run IO Registry Explorer, do you see Bluetooth listed as a device under XHC?
Yup, card connected to USB. Here is the IOReg search for Bluetooth
