[Guide] Install High Sierra or Mojave on the Dell Optiplex 7010 / 9010 Desktop PC - Revision II

These dells seem slow to get thru the bios (mine - 25 secs to clover) how long for yours?
Just timed my Optiplex 9010/3770 system. It takes a little over 15 seconds from Dell logo to the CBM. That is perfectly acceptable. After that it boots to the desktop very quickly. I'm not even using an SSD. So if some people are getting longer times, I'd say, just don't reboot so much, sleep it instead. These late 2012/2013 machines were the first generation to have full UEFI implementation so no one who owns one should expect 3-4 seconds to reach the CBM.

What was the reason you chose a Xeon instead of the i7-3770 ? I think that it's not the best to be using a Xeon and a Mac Pro 6,1 system Def. The SSDTs and plist are custom made for a 2012 Mac mini instead. I know that 6,1 is a better match for your CPU but it's not for this guide at least. 10s or less to get to the Clover menu is perfectly ok. What's the hurry ?

Sorry, my original CPU was an i3, I upgraded it to a Xeon.
Could you please give me some advice? Should I change it to Mac mini? Thank you very much.

Are you having any usb problems or sleep problems ? Stay with MP 6,1 for a few weeks and see how it goes before switching. I've never used a Xeon in an Optiplex so I've got no experience to go by.

Ive had different results along the way, not really sure what I change that makes the difference in boot times. Currently Turn on to Desktop Login Screen = 27 seconds with an ssd.

Looking at @ideasight 's config.plist and bootlog brings in a few questions;-
the CPU - if it works great but cant offer any insight relating,
the bootlog has a gap of almost exactly 10 seconds which might be worth looking into - almost certainly a time out of some sort, and
your use of additional kexts for the keyboard seems unusual - what's that about? Check you only have the kexts you need.
The bootlog throws some warnings about memory speed not being recognised - you might try turning off XMPDetection in Clover|Boot section.

Thanks. No usb problems or sleep problems

Maybe the 10 seconds is the question. I'm using a PS/2 keyboard, so I put that kext into clover.

Has anyone else had an issue with Clover not showing an installer option? I've tried searching around haven't found anything. Trying to install Mojave, since my MacBook has Mojave installed I can't get an AppStore High Sierra installer.

I have a 9010 USFF w/ the HD4000.

EDIT: 0 clue what the actual problem was. Re-created the USB, and it worked just fine. Was able to get it installed and it's working great! Haven't tested the sound and stuff yet. Right now it's on a HDD, wasn't going to buy a SSD until I could get it to work. Going too see if I can copy the HDD exactly over to a SSD so I don't have to go through the install/configuration process again. Thanks again for the tutorial!

Thanks. I turned off XMPDetection in Clover and deleted all the kexts in clover folder, but it's still slow

Hello, I'm looking for a 7010 or 9010 for less than 90€, containing shipping costs, with an i5 if possible but not Pentium, not powerful enough. I looked on Ebay but I did not find if you find interesting offers I'm a buyer!
