Thanks for the Explanation. I will take a look.

Edit:
Sorry I saw the video Perfectly well with IGPU Enabled or disabled , it does not make any difference. Maybe when you edit this videos is a different story, but playing on VLC is exactly the same to me.
Sure Your system has software codec and your cpu has enough power to play. Please check CPU usage.
If your iGPU work well your cpu usage must less than 10% actually my CPU usage is 6%.
Check up IntelPowerGadget GFX Frequency too. It must show iGPU work.

Why not try my EFI folder ? Your system is exactly same with mine and mine work perfectly.
Sleep well wake up well and iGPU work perfectly with RX580.
I uploaded headless mode EFI folder already.

In Korean community "https://x86.co.kr" all the Designare owners already enjoy all function of designare.
Just checking, your "EFI-Headless.zip" from post # 1505 is the one you're suggesting I try?
I want to confirm as this thread is becoming quite long and I want to be sure.
I am using a 4k ASUS PB287Q monitor plugged into a DP port on my RX580 (Sapphire).

Thanks in advance kenntkim66

Yes.......Just move config.plist to /EFI/CLOVER folder and check up SMBIOS serial Niumber. SMBIOS must be imac18.3

In headless mode Your monitor must connect to RX580. 4k is OK.

In headless mode only way you can check up iGPU work well or not is IntelPowerGadget.
You cannot see iGPU on your system report and on istatmeny you can see UHD630 but it will now show iGPU work.

Good luck !

Hello every one, first timer here, I have a kernel panick at phase 3 when the install is done and I lunch Mojave for the first time, I followed the instruction to the letter : /

I was wondering if Beats 1 radio in iTunes works with your config? Please try it. If I don't disable IGPU it doesn't work.
What is the framebuffer-unifiedmem 80 for ?
Do you already settle with cpufriend settings ?

Thanks

I can confirm that using your "headless" configuration of the iGPU in combination with SMBIOS "macmini8,1" doesn't support hardware decoding (playing the H.265 4k video results in 50% core utilization). Using "imac18,3" it's about 5%.

Without your information I wouldn't have recognized this issue! Thanks a lot!

One question:
What's the reason that you've added all the PCI information in "Devices - Arbitrary" within the config.plist?

Cosmetic.. It adds items to your PCI list in the system information section of "About this Mac"

Alright after yet another SMBIOS change ( at 18.3 now) I'm up and running using your "EFI-Headless.zip" from post # 1505. All seems well so far, Final Cut runs, machine appears to be stable, etc, etc..

I fail to see how IntelPowerGadget will show the iGPU working. Here's a screen grab of it's output.
Also what are your memory settings for the iGPU in your BIOS?

Thanks for your help.
