iTunes is Apple online services, it is more software issues than hardware setup issues.

Apple’s confusing method of device authorization and association
Why does it have to be so difficult when all you want to do is watch an iTunes video on one of your devices?
https://www.macworld.com/article/31...-of-device-authorization-and-association.html

I don't know about you guys, iTunes authorization has always worked as it should on a real Mac for me.

iTunes DRM has been hit or miss, but I've never really spent much if any effort on getting iTunes DRM working. I don't watch many movies/TV shows on my computer. I have a TV and Apple TV for that. I have not had any issues using AirPlay to stream stuff from my hack to my Apple TV.

Guys, just wondering you cant even watching trailer in iTunes?

Most trailers do not have DRM so they do play. It is the media that is protected by DRM that is the issue. But this post is really about Quicklook/preview problems.

Straying off topic. This thread is about Quick Look problems. Please discuss iTunes DRM here.

Hi there, I did an upgrade and installation went fine. Upon some initial testing I noticed that Quicklook did not preview jpgs, mp3 and mp4. It just showed a spinner. The preview app only displays pdfs but not jpgs. Is anyone else having this issue?
Thanks

Same issue here with 710.

You're right everything works suddenly. I have now a Hackintosh with only hotpatches and some kexts.

That's not true anymore. Everything works OOB for me after booting but after sleep quicklook is broken again.
So I tried Whatevergreen and removed the renames (IGPU,GFX0) and everything is working.

So my final config:
  • 18,3 SMBIOS
  • no graphics injection and no graphics related renames
  • Whatevergreen for quicklook after sleep
  • board-id-check patch for black screen
  • 0x000906EA FakeCPUID for Airplay
One little unimportant thing though: IGPU isn't showing in System Report anymore - but it works.

And, am I the only one where quicklook and safari videos are somehow connected? (if quicklook doesn't work - videos don't)

That is normal behavior. To fix the sleep problem with quicklook. Delete whatevergreen.. put back all the renames and try gfx1 patch instead of gfx0 :) could be possible that it should be gfx0 but you have to try.. (i use a mac pro 6,1 smbios with a 18,3 bios version and 18,3 board id, in that case it is GFX1).

you need to do:

heci -> imei patch
gfx0 to igpu patch
pegp to gfx1 patch

inject 0x59120003 ig-platform-id (graphics)
inject IntelGFX 0x59128086 (devices)

after that you can delete:

  • board-id-check patch for black screen
  • 0x000906EA FakeCPUID for Airplay

I have everything working even after sleep. I was only sharing my solution. No problem anymore.

pegp to gfx1 patch
Whatevergreen does the renaming so why should I rename it? And why gfx1?

inject 0x59120003 ig-platform-id (graphics)
inject IntelGFX 0x59128086 (devices)
Why should i spoof Kaby Lake when I have Mojave and Coffee Lake?

  • board-id-check patch for black screen
  • 0x000906EA FakeCPUID for Airplay

The Airplay doesn't work without a FakeCPUID since High Sierra. I tried it.
And the board-id check is necessary due to my SMBIOS 18,3.

- in my case i use a pro bios (mac pro 6,1) with a imac 18,3 board id and bios id. pro smbios with igpu enabled and rx 580 is GFX1
- i don't want to use whatevergreen but as little kexts as possible.

-This fixes your airplay and sleep problem without whatevergreen
-If deleted airplay is broken.

-works if you follow my instructions. not needed.

Ok, didn't know that you're using a pro bios. And good to know that it's GFX1 then.
But when I can choose between a kext and a cpu spoof I'd rather take the kext. Or not?
