Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

Hi, I couldn't boot without any kext or by enabling RadeonDeInit. After the boot the Apple logo disappeared and the GPU didn't output any signal. I had to install Lilu.kext + WhateverGreen.kext and now everything is fine.
...
Is this with the latest 10.13.4 (Build 17E202)? I ask because w/o the above only DVI and 2x HDMI ports work for three non 4K monitors. (The DP ports work in Sierra 10.12.6 which allows for using a 4K monitor.)

What System Definition (SMBIOS) are you using? I'm using iMac18,3.

Update: I tried again with RadeonDeInit enabled and with the two kexts (Lilu v1.2.3 and WhateverGreen v1.1.7), once in just ...Clover/kexts/ folder and another boot with both just in /Library/Extensions/. Neither tries succeeded in getting DP to display the macOS Desktop in 10.13.4.

Your build looks awesome :)

You have just reminded me to switch the GPU slot - I switched GPU to the slot near the case fan and now it never goes up above 50C

I suggest you to switch your WiFi card one slot above, to the longer empty x16 one. That will give it more space to keep cool.

It was better with the XFX card because the network card was hidden under it. The max temperature that this card has reached in Windows while gaming is 82°C at 1.411MHz (max. frequency w/o manual overclock) and 60% fans speed without throttling. Way better than the XFX card that "passed away" after some months probably because temperatures :)
I'm actually considering to buy a custom white and black blackplate for the GPU and the network card.

I'm using macOS 10.13.4 (build 17E202) with iMac18,3 as SMBIOS. The monitor is an LG 34UC99-W at 3440x1440 via DisplayPort. My GPU has 2x HDMI, 2x DP and 1x DVI-D. I tried to change to the other DP port before installing Lilu and WhateverGreen (both at latest available "release" version) but I didn't tested the HDMI port.
Now I have disabled both iGPU and RadeonDeInit and putted Lilu + WhateverGreen in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/
In the past I used them in /Library/Extensions/ but every time I installed an updated version I had to fix permissions and re-build kernel cache with Terminal.

Hmmm. Did a fresh install to test some s/w. Tried the iMac14,2 SysDef. With the RadeonDeInit enabled and no kexts, DP is working. So, it might be iMac14,2, not 18,3 is the SysDef to have.

I'll be doing more testing over the next couple of days.

I found this too with my RX 580, someone suggested I use iMac15,1 for my build a while ago, however my DisplayPorts stop working. On iMac14,2 both my DisplayPorts work perfectly, and I even have MST support.

I'm not using RadeonDeInit, and I'm using macOS 10.13.4

Running 10.13.4 (17E202) and the DPs working with SysDef iMac14,2 with RadeonDeInit=No (false) and w/o Luli & WhateverGreen kexts. Power management per Intel Power Gadget is being managed so no SSDT required for PM. Looks like I/we found the answer for using RX 580s which in my case is a Sapphire Pulse 8GB graphics card.:clap::thumbup:

Indeed! Do you have the IGPU enabled, or are you only using your RX?

Only the RX 580. BIOS is set for Primary Diskpay == PEG (PCI).
Likewise. Had no problems with this card since getting it, as I was already using iMac14,2 anyway (previously owned a GTX 760). That's good to know in any case.

But will the system utilize the i7-8700K properly with iMac 14,2? I was using that SysDef before but switched to 18,3 since that was closer to my build specs. I can confirm as well that using displayport cables with 18,3 requires whatevergreen. On 14,2 it doesn't need it.

That's why I ran the Intel PowerGadget. So far, so good. Since I don't use professional applications, I'll let others comment on the suitability of 14,2 vs. 18,3. Hopefully, Apple will correct this problem in 10.13.5. BTW, I have no clue as to why 14,2 works and 18,3 does not.
