Hey guys.
After a couple of months of trying to figure this problem out on my own, I am throwing in the towel.

I have a NVME in my Fractal Node 202 build. It contains Windows 10. I have my High Sierra 10.13.3 on a another SSD.

The main problem is that I get at times a KP after about 30 seconds in to booting MacOS.
Ill attach the KP but a partial is this:

It happens randomly. I cannot pinpoint the reason why it happens sometimes and doesn't. But I think it another problem the build faces is that the drive locations change randomly as well. What I mean is that disk0s1 will be the NVME drive at times and at other times it will be the SSD containing macOS at others it will the drive where I store my time machine backups.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but High Sierra has native support for NVME? If there is a solution involving blocking the loading of the NVME in macOS, I'll take it.

I appreciate any and all advice.
Thanks!

That is normal. bsd names for disks are non-deterministic.

Likely native with problems/bugs.
You have latest firmware flashed to your NVMe?

If there is a solution involving blocking the loading of the NVME in macOS, I'll take it.

Read/implement class-code spoof guide, then don't install a matching kext:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...h-ionvmefamily-using-class-code-spoof.210316/

--

Please note your ACPI configuration is wrong. Attempt to disassemble your patchmatic output and you'll see: iasl -da -dl *.aml
Code:
ACPI Error: [_DSM] Namespace lookup failure, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20161210/dswload-462)
ACPI Exception: AE_ALREADY_EXISTS, During name lookup/catalog (20161210/psobject-310)
Could not parse external ACPI tables, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS

Thank you Rehabman. I updated to the latest firmware and still get the same (what feels like entirely random) crashes after around 15-120 seconds into login. I will use your advice to prevent the NVME drive from being loaded in macOS. Thanks a lot.

Successfully followed your guide to create an SSDT_NVMe-Pcc.aml to block the NVME from being recognized in macOS.
It was possibly the easiest thing I have ever done in regards to hackintoshes.
After testing the effects, I've yet to encounter the aforementioned error. As always, I greatly appreciate your support and advice.

Please marked [Solved].
Thank you!

I have the same issue with iMac 27" 2019 i5 3.1Ghz.
I got Kernel panics almost everyday.
Sometimes the nvme ssd is not found even in Recovery mode.
I also got this KR after I just start the iMac.

Is it possible to do the for a native Apple nvme?

Sorry to bring this old thread back, but I am getting this same random NVME panic on my Z490 10900k build at boot. 3 Samsung NVME's, 2 non-pro and 1 pro, all with latest firmware. Can sometimes go weeks with no issue, then for example this past week it's happened every day at power on. When the panic does not happen, comp functions flawlessly. I'm on the latest Catalina.

I haven't had any issue with my NVME causing KP in a long while. Try updating your NVME firmware again?. If unsuccessful try following the information provided by Rehabman. I'm not sure if it is compatible with OpenCore but I don't see why it wouldn't. It does look to be a similar KP to what I was having.

Curious if anyone has any further thoughts on this?

I was getting similar panics that got progressively worse with a 2 TB 660p NVME.

I switched to a WD SN750 2TB with a totally fresh and clean Big Sur installation and things were perfect -- for a few weeks -- and just in the last week they started up again and yesterday I couldn't even use the Hack for the afternoon as it would boot up "frozen"...then sometimes boot up and work for a bit and then freeze -- just maddening. Sometimes when forcing the boot back I'd get the reporter telling me it was, once again, this NVME panic.

This AM I used my Windows install to update to the latest OpenCore and rebuild/re-check my EFI, settings and get latest Kexts again, etc -- and as of now I'm back in latest Big Sur on OpenCore 0.7.0 with everything as updated as possible and things are working again perfectly.. I also used the WD tool in Windows to ensure my NVMe stick has the latest firmware (which it does), just to be safe.

...but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried that literally any moment - could be as I'm sitting here typing - the whole thing could halt and freeze and start NVME panicking again..

Just maddening.

I really wish I understood more what this issue is.

As I was finishing editing the post above...

It happened again - took two reboots to get back, as the first one back was stuck frozen showing the dock, desktop, but no menu bar

The issue is likely your Intel 660P. You could try installing NVMEfix.kext to see if it helps > https://github.com/acidanthera/NVMeFix
