Final Cut Pro X FCPX Graphic Card performance

Hi Guys!

This year I'm planing to assembly my first "customac" mainly for FCPX. I would like to use SIERRA.

But as I gone through the buyers guide I see that the GPU list is somehow old... So I peak into the local shops and found out, it possibly will be very hard to buy an appropriate card.
So my question is, which is best/most compatible GPU option which should be still available around 150-300€ ?

which is locally available are here (as you see mostly last pieces or used):
www.alza.sk/geforce-gtx970-graphics-cards/18855278.htm

I've read something about dual card option, is it possible to put this
www.alza.sk/EN/gigabyte-n740d5oc-2gi-d1638229.htm?catid=18854531
into dual mode? how hard would be that? and how would the performance be against the GTX970?

I'm also afriad to ask what about the AMD cards, because I found thread somewhere around which says there are problems with sleep/awake and also with boot.

So what would you do? Buy one of the "last mohicans" now? If yes which option or what alternative? Or wait when I got all the money for the build and hope that the newer cards will be supported properly?

1. Buy a RX580 8G for 300€
2. Install Seirra 10.12.6.
3. Download & Put LiluGreen and Whatever Kexts in EFI/Clover/Other
4. Physically Install RX580 in Computer
5. Boot and Check if all details of Graphics Card are correct.
6. Post your FCPX score in here.

High Sierra 10.13.1/FCPX10.3.4//MSI AMD RX480/8GB+ lilu/whatevergreen:
BruceX 15 sec

That's great for a $200 card.

how big is the performance benefit of having a second r9 280x vs. just having single card? is 4k editing possible with just a single card install?
Hi, I have MB Asus z170 pro - 32 GB ram - SSD - i7-6700k 4 ghz - 10.11.6 and many FCPX plugins
With single r9-280x : bruceX : 19s (without plugins : 12-13sec)
With dual r9-280x crossfire : 13s
Not so bad for cost/compatibility/performance ?
Any idea of a most powerful GPU for FCPX ?

Thanks for the advice. I updated to Sierra with RX 580 8GB( with lily and whatevergreen kexts, SMBIOS 15,1), same perfs under Bruce X FCPX (19s) but much better display and quiet. BTW When I plug a second RX 580, I can't boot (black screen before log page). I a put a R9-280 & RX 580 it boots... Any idea ? Thanks
