You must have made the change incorrectly in the kext.

Note: The kext shouldn't crash in the case of a non-existent or incorrectly coded _DSM anyway...
Then there is something wrong with the kext at the moment. I didn't compile it, using the one @freejack attached. For me it isn't the way of correcting things here and there, but just getting them to work...

My suggestion in post #187 is for a change in the code inside the kext.

Hey rehabman! I wasent sure how to properly ask you a question so I found you on this thread. Is there a proper way to ask it instead of here so I don't muddy up the thread?

Post a new thread in an appropriate forum.

I guess someone didn't like my post as for some reason I got banned for a couple days with some odd explanation of having multiple accounts?????
Weird. And my post is gone

Did you have multiple accounts? (it is not allowed per rules).

@uar Is your battery status indicator working correctly? If I pull out the power cable when it's fully charged, it still thinks it's plugged in and charging even though the percentage is going down. See attached screenshot.

Yep, it is a known issue. You have experienced one out of three. It happens when you shutdown while plugged in or if the battery is charged fully. To get back to battery state you have to plug in and restart (in macOS). When macOS has booted again, unplug the charger. See if you got the indicator back.

Remember always to unplug the charger before shutdown or under 100% (like 98% or something) of battery charge to avoid this issue.

(Of course things will have issues with a non-Apple computer!)
