Solving NVIDIA Driver Install & Loading Problems

Precisely the same issue. and booting with nv_disbale=1 its practically unusable as its choppy and slow.

I even tried the DSDT edits suggested somewhere on this site in the "post installation" forums

There is a post about this over on insanely mac as well and no one has had any luck their either.

I have been following the insanelymac thread nearly on a daily basis

Graphics boot glitch patch for 10.12

A new patch is required.

eg. in KextsToPatch:
Comment: Boot graphics glitch, 10.12.dp1 (credit denskop)
MatchOS: 10.12.x
Name: IOGraphicsFamily
Find: <01000075 25>
Replace: <010000eb 25>

Does this apply to the same problem?

No. As the insanely Mac forum thread states, Windows manager is crashing at the moment it should display the login screen.

My 560ti is not working so i'll be keeping a close eye on this thread for a fix. Is there a way to roll back to El Cap? Can I just run the installer? My sky lake build went without a hitch.

Only way to roll back is with time machine.

Common problem in 10.12. iMac 12,1 & 12,2. Use iMac 13,2 to solve the black screen issue.

Thanks Violet, that did it! (for the record I did 13,1 kept my serial number, and then re-added the new config.plist key for nvidiaweb)

Thanks so much, I was looking everywhere but the system def!

Any point in waiting or should I just suck it up and buy some other graphic card?

I have a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 470 with two DVI ports and was running two monitors just fine on 10.11.3 with MacPro 3,1, updated to 10.11.6 with iMac 14,2 and now I can only run one monitor with the other black but showing up as a 800x600px VGA projector in system prefs> displays. I've updated to the latest Nvidia driver (346.03.15f02) and made sure they stick following the RC scripts & EMU tips in the OP, I'm stumped as what to do next?
