Well final update:
Thanks, Danke, Gracias, Bedankt, Merci, Grazie, 谢谢 Sebinouse
Everything now running smooth in Dual Boot Mode.
Did the Hackintosch install a few times to get the hang of it....
Lessons learned:
- Follow Sebinouse manual -exactly- to the letter..
- Backup, backup, backup the EFI folder before every change...so you can reverse the changes easily
Most major change was the screen settings.
This solution might also help those who got problems with screen flickering...
Cause was conflicting 'refresh' rates combined with certain monitors....
Modifications:
- Used manual to prepare USB and install Capitan 10.11.6
(yes, Sebinouse manual verified and tested for 10.11.6)
- Added Windows on a second hard drive and now happily dual booting.
Clover is just a little gem if you learn how to 'cut' it. My Config.plist enclosed for those curious
- Added 2nd monitor and it works 'out-of-the-box'
(enable dual monitor also in the BIOS!)
Dual Boot:
1. Installed Hackintosh (mSATA) according to Sebinouse instructions.
2. Removed mSATA drive
3. Installed SATA drive
4. Install & Configure Windows
5. Installed mSATA drive
6. Edit BIOS to boot on Clover/EFI first
7. Start on OSx and use Clover configurator
a: to cleanup the boot options: Gui --> Scan = disable Legacy
b: boot last used: Boot --> Default Boot Volume = LastBootedVolume
Essentially dual/multi booting simplified:
- Install every OS on a separate Hard Drive
- While installing only have one Drive installed (do not attach the other drives!)
- When finished attached all Hard Drives and first/immediately modify BIOS to boot on CLOVER (EFI) first!!!!
- Optional: Cleanup boot options with Clover Configurator
Known issues:
Multi boot freeze at startup:
Clover/OSx startup can have issues with normal boot when Windows has been put in sleep/hibernate.
Starting Clover in Verbose mode solves the problem, it mentions it found a drive in 'sleep/hibernate' status...and continues OSx boot. (Weird but it works).
I just disabled sleep/hibernate in Windows to get rid of this.
Screen flickering:
When logon or watching clips/movies in full screen I had (sometimes) horizontal stripes or blocks.
Modified settings according to RehabMan instructions (for desktop!), files (should be) included with Sebinouse package.
Either change monitor as others suggested -or- change the settings in config.plist
I proceeded to change my config.plist
