Ok, report.

Power adapter plugin makes no difference whatsoever, still hard lock.

Using stock clover config and adding "nv_disable=1 cpus=1 -v" I was able to proceed further than ever before. Still hard lock but I was never been able to go further than "mcache" line.

Limiting number of CPUs seems to be "good" but it's hard to know whether going as far as it went is normal occurrence and with multi-CPU kernel just doesn't have enough time to flush the buffer before the lockup or I actually went further than before.

Gonna start hacking away at config.plist

Your verbose output indicates a problem mounting root. If you're booting from USB, it is likely a USB problem...

Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (omit 'themes' folder).

So IntelMausi is a must have for the ethernet adapter, still hard lock though

. Will work on USB config now and will post that soon.

Attached. I've updated USBInjectAll.kext to latest available and added IntelMausi. SMBIOS section has MBP 17,1 and Memory section reflects current configuration. Otherwise it's stock Unibeast.

I tried all available USB ports with same results - IO wait on root mount and hard lock.

Problems with Ethernet will not prevent boot and has nothing to do with your issue.

You also do not need Ethernet kexts to boot or complete the installer.

Generally it's true, but when the kernel freezes like that you never know if the freeze due to a stray IRQ handler interfering with a USB or something. I didn't have a remote debugger attached, so if a driverless device pops up in the console followed by a freeze it's better to try to actually fill in the device driver so it stays idle.

Most likely is ACPI configuration issue...

Much more progress with your config. That said, USB driver seems to fail.

I think the last line says "Still waiting for root device".

Uploaded EFI per your previous instructions.
