I dont speak about the lenght.... i talk about the height. Slot 5 (only Slot that works in OSX) is about 5cm away from case bottom. So my Graphicscard has a 2.5 Slot Solution. That results in a 2cm Space from Card to CaseBottom. Air circulation is bad, so i got too high temps while heavy GPU Usage. (Games or stuff like that)

TpwUK did you download my entire setup files yet and tried those?
There I put my 5802bios-modded rom / efi folder
Use them on usb stick and put my ssdt created for your processors in there instead of my 2x2670.
Be sure to use a modded AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext because without it wont work.
Bios optimised defaults with just virutalization settings and vtd turned off.
If you use my created SSDT it should work.
If it does not something else is wrong.
Try bios mod and AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext and be sure to remove nullcpupowermanagement.

I got a Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 wich gave me USB 3 OOB on my 10.11.3 build.
With that and USB audio I have a fully working setup now :)

Yes i did, and i tried a few of the files you provided there-in, sadly no speed step or turbo modes here even with your SSDT... Whenever i get a PStates Success message i always follow up with a KP that says Limiting PStates is not allowed on this system. I have tried several solutions from all over the web, and now this build is pretty much dead. I have to boot with NullCPM now, which of course kills speed step and turbo.

I have ordered 2 E5-2667v2 so they will be here in a few weeks time, so i am tinkering with the idea of starting again with my two E5-2620v2 to get things up n running properly again and then hopefully i should be be able to just swap my processors and build a new SSDT and hopefully it will all be good.

I have absolutely no idea how you managed to get this working with Sandy Bridge Xeons - All i can say is that you done better than me :)

Hi everyone, nice guide, i made a dual xeon e5 2670 build recently with the asus z9pa-d8 (non WS), after some headache i'm stuck no matter what in the pci chek on boot when i'm trying to use an external gpu. I made some research and the z9pa-d8 have the pci line attached only on one cpu, it's possible that the gpu will be recognized with only one cpu installed? there is a way to pass the pci check with a kext? thanks in advance!

Where do i get the modded AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext from?

See post #917 on this thread ... Leonard shared his files. His patched AICPM did mot work for me though so no guarantees with it.

I don't know of anything that will do what you're asking. If your board is like ours then if you put E5-2xxx it will look for and expect dual processors. If you have an E5-1xxx or other singular LGA2011 based processor then you should be able to boot with just the one CPU

Struggling with getting everything to run with an Asus Z9PA-D8 motherboard like the Z9PE-D8 listed in this thread.

I have made a similar system using the Asus Z9PA-D8, dual Xeon E-2680, 64GB Ram and GTX 970 video card.

I have been able to get the system up and running with the basic unibeast installation method but so far I am unable to find any Kext files that will enable the functionality of the motherboard - namely the speed of the processors, identifying the ram, USB 3 etc. I have been able to get the onboard ethernet to work but that is about it. Using other kexts results in system failure.

Do you have any suggestions or kext files that I should track down to make this system work better?

Thank you in advance!
Sculpey

Hi, can you write please the steps, settings and kext you've used? i have a z9pa-d8, e5-2670 a 970 and i'm stuck when booting on the "pci configuration begin" or "nvdagm100hal registered", thanks!
