For what it's worth, I would avoid using the nVidia 346.01.02f04 drivers for the GTX-970(and possibly other Maxwell based nVidia cards). The f03 drivers, however work fine. The f04 drivers cause the mouse to freeze after about 2 minutes of use. Why this happens is a mystery... But this is what happened on a Z97X-UD7 TH mobo, i7-4790 processor, 32gb Crucial RAM, Yosemite 10.10.3 install + a EVGA GTX-970 ACX 2.0 video card.
The f04 driver works perfectly fine for me, build is below.
I am using 343.01.01f03 driver version.I have a ASUS STRIX GTX 970. I have an issue where sometimes i get black screen/monitor switchoff and sometimes it works fine. not sure why. I already use nvda_drv=1 so I also add the the nv_disable = 1 as tags. pls help
Also what does dart = 1 do? I mean in the wiki it says it doesnt allow external memory or something. I am just not getting it thats all.
Also my usb 3.0 pendrive transfer is slow. Also device is not detected if it is connected to the system. Are you guys facing the same problem???
Thanks. Ya I have still not updated as I finally have the audio working as it was a pain. So I am sticking to 10.10 and not upgrading.
I have heard others having a similar problem of random black boot screen. Was just hoping that someone would have had solution.
I will remove nbv_disable in that case. Regarding the USB I already did but no one is responding.
In about this mac it says Mac Pro (Early 2008) which is Mac 1,3. Right.
Also I have a VGA monitor and use a VGA to DVI connected to connect the monitor. If I unplug and replug the monitor. It will boot fine for sure. But subsequent restart dont guarantee proper boot without black screen.
I have a ASUS Strix gtx 970 does it matter that I have different brand GPU??
