Z690 Chipset Motherboards and Alder Lake CPU

The ASUS USB4 cards I have seen use an Intel controller, not an ASMedia controller. They are also only set to work with specific ASUS motherboards.

I cant find the MSI USB4 card for sale in the UK.

Asus introduced it yesterday. MSI USB 4 cards are available.
I did a fairly extensive search and was unable to find a US vendor for that card.

I wrote to Asus about this. Interesting that they produced a card with USB 4, and this year USB 4 2.0. (80Gbit) is entering the market.

I love these "formerly"…

And, seriously, had someone ever seen "USB 3.2 Gen1x2" implemented anywhere? Or merely heard of it before stumbling on this table???

I received a response from Asus.

"Technical Support response

Dear ASUS Customer,

Kindly be advised that we do not have availability information at this time. Please contact us at the end of this month or the beginning of the new month - it is possible that we will already have information."

The table doesn't take into account the encoding of the bits on the wire. For example, USB 3.0 uses 8b/10b while USB 3.1 Gen 2 uses 128b/132b.
