What speed did you set it to in the BIOS?
52 all p-cores. 4.2 e-cores. 40 rings. Both machines have the exact same settings.

There are several unknowns about this controller (ASMedia ASM4242). Although macOS most likely will not recognize this device, it may recognize the PCI Class ID for Thunderbolt/USB4 and may assign a default driver. We could also try either or both of these usual tricks:"In terms of the specifications, ASUS's USB4 Add-In-Card features an ASMedia ASM4242 controller, which is similar to what we saw in the MSI's counterpart. The card features a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and comes with 40 Gbps bi-directional bandwidth support. It comes with two USB Type-C ports, which can be connected to support up to five USB4 devices in a daisy chain. For additional support, both of the Type-C connections are compatible with 20V/3A connections, along with a 60W charging feature as well, which makes ASUS's AIC stand out among the options available in the market."
CaseySJ as you confuse, will it work under macOS?

It would be an interesting experiment for someone...
- Spoof device IDs
- Spoof the compatible property
The card doesn't appear to be available in the US.…which is an invitation for a brave soul to buy one of these ASM4242 cards, plug it in their hack and report on what happens—being aware that "nothing interesting" is a plausible outcome.
