MicroCenter is the answer to DDR5.
Unfortunately my closest MicroCenter is 4 hours away

DDR5 is going insanely out of stock, I am wondering what would a 128GB DDR4 would perform in comparison of 64GB DDR5?I returned DDR 5 sticks yesterday. Microcenter has stock.
I am still tempted to build a "1.1" update to this system by using either an Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi or MSI Z690 MEG ACE. These are more expensive boards and work only with DDR5 memory, but both contain on-board Maple Ridge Thunderbolt 4. The Asus has 10GbE on-board as well.
After my previous post on AQC113C compatibility, I have found a DXE driver on iMac20,1_20,2 BIOS firmware named aqnicdxe with GUID B4ED58A2-6EEE-4819-9BD3-836ABD004EE6 :Here is AQC113 variants devices natively supported by Monterey 12.0.1 :

VID 0x1D6A PID 0x00C0 seem to be an engineering sample model
VID 0x1D6A PID 0x04C0 seem to be AQC113 10Gbit model
VID 0x1D6A PID 0x94C0 seem to be AQC113CS 10Gbit model
VID 0x1D6A PID 0x93C0 seem to be AQC114CS 5Gbit model
If AQC113C model has a different device-id, we can patch it under Opencore/Device properties.
Attached Product brief, for now, these are Marvell products ... not movies
Update 1: inverted PID & VID ..
Update 2: Unfortunally, AQC113C have a different PID 0x14C0 following this website, we should try patching device-id and make some performance tests
Good luck with DDR5....Hi all!!
I am planning my next build with Z690 chipset. I am not in hurry so probably I will wait until DDR5 is widely available.
I will need at least 4 PCIe slots (one for the GPU) so I have thought about Gigabyte Z690 UD. Is there any concern that makes that board not advisable for Big Sur/Monterey or can limit the performance?
Many thanks in advance
Maybe Asus Prime Z690-P? Has 4 X16 slots of varying capabilities.Hi all!!
