Hey guys.

I've been spending countless hours (not a bad thing, quite interesting) in forums reading on what I'm gonna buy without being able to come to a conclusion (bad thing). Here's my situation:

Currently have a Dell U2713HM 2560x1440 monitor and I'm planning on buying 2 more when I move out of my current apartment and get a bigger desk.

I wanna game and manage to keep this build for gaming for the next 3 years
Video editing wise, I hope that when needed I can add 2x8GB to the existing 2x8GB modules and go to 32GB and for near half hour rendering which, should be fine!

The main question comes to GPU:
I've been leaning towards the R9 280X Sapphire Toxic version for quite some time
but now I'm more fond of the EVGA GTX 770 4GB (04G-P4-3776-KR)

Issue of most importance: Compatibility with Hackintosh.
Stability with three monitors? I've read that drivers need to be updated to get multi monitor support. The 2GB version is recommended but I think if I'm running resolutions of 7680x1440 I'm gonna need the 4GB SLI in the future although VRAM doesn't stack.

Do any of you have multi monitor support in OSX with (CUDA) acceleration with the GTX or use the r9 280X in CF?

Here's the rest of the components:

You might be able to save some $ on your Graphics card as well... ShopBLT doesnt charge tax or shipping. Search for the manufactures part number and compare prices, there are many different models of the EVGA 770.

hope this helps! happy building, looks nice!

I see that you have a 4GB 770, is it the EVGA?

I dont have it yet, havent decided on EVGA 770 4GB Classified, MSI GTX 770 4GB (only one model almost as fast as classified but comes with a backplate also has over sized fans - nice), or ASUS 770 4GB (7% slower than MSI, 9% slower than EVGA Classified - comes with backplate as well looks SWEET nice eye candy).

Finally got around to ordering this beast and it works like a charm.
on a Dell U2713HM i get the full 2560x1440 resolution off the GTX 770 4GB from EVGA using a dvi cable

installation was a piece of cake, just had to use kext wizard for the ALC898 of the ud5h mobo from gigabyte to get functionality of the native sound support . what's great is, both ethernet ports can be used, you just have to add functionality for both intel and realtek.

After effects (cc) utilises up to 1.55GB of VRAM of the GTX770 which is fantastic.
The computer boots in less than 12 seconds including the chimera screen which takes 4 seconds or so

GTX 770 from EVGA is a GO, didn't even have to remove it during installation.
