Upgrading my Hardware

The GT620 will need at least Lion 10.7.5 to work but 10.8 and above is better. Use the older card for Snow Leopard. The old TMX guides of the time used Snow Leopard compatible GPU hardware:

The old TMX wiki page has some model numbers that worked in Snow Leopard:

Almost all of these cards will be long out of production - so your going to need to find stuff that others have put aside or are selling due to upgrading.

This page is good for getting an idea on performance differences:

This page may help further with some of the compatible AMD 5*** & 6**** models:

I have an old AMD 5570 that I use for Snow Leopard in an old socket 775 build. The original small fan had become noisy so I fitted a passive cooler from another card to reduce noise.

Wow !!

Thanks Adrian for the full and detailed replay !!!

I have great news, I have successfully installed everything except one issue

I started from step 1, Iboot + Multibeast with 10.6.3
then combo update to 10.6.7, update helper for sandy bridge processor
than combo update to 10.6.8 then easybeast + latest DSDT file
installed Nvidia drivers for display.

Until Here i can boot and have full display support, than migrate assistant from old system
all aps work fine no errors no problem !!!!!

Last issue is usb 3.0 !!
the usb ports are unavailable, how do i get them to work ?
in the bios setting they are enabled
