It IS possible to install Clover without putting it on the EFI partition... perhaps?

I think users were dragging it to the main partition manually during early beta testing?

Actually it was this first way we were able to install Clover. Eventually it was discovered that you could use the EFI folder for that.

Enoch/Chameleon has improved its plist functions so that’s another option for true legacy builds. Clover has the best variety of fixes but Enoch is getting better.

Yes, as late as an ASUS H97 I had to install to an EFI folder on the main boot drive rather than in the EFI partition because the motherboard just would not boot from it. Only motherboard that I had to do this for
