Hello,
I've been a reading all the posts in order to prepare for creating my hackintosh. I have an X58 motherboard like you (not sure on the type I will have to look into that later) with an older Nvidia GTX graphics card and I would like to put High Sierra on it. If possible I would like to keep my Windows 10 install which is on a separate hard drive and be able to boot from either one. Are these general steps correct?
- Install Snow Leopard with iboot and multibeast
- Upgrade to Lion (El Capitan?) to access the app store and get High Sierra
- Download and install High Sierra from the app store using unibeast (is 8.0.0 the latest one?)
- Do post installation with multibeast
I think I understand all these steps, but there are other things I'm reading that I don't quite understand like DSDT and PLIST files (these sound like configuration files of some sort). Will the above steps get me to a bootable OS or do I need to do tweaks to these configuration files? From what I've been reading in the forums there are certain patches you need to run to make it not crash on start up like deleting the AppleTyMCEDDriver.kext and something about a Non-ECC memory patch. Then you need to make the OS think your computer is a MacPro6,1 rather than a 5,1 and then change it back after the installation?
I'm sorry if I'm asking too many questions, but this is all new to me and I would like to get it right the first time if possible.
