So every thread I've read regarding USB 3.0 has only talked about how it doesn't work on Lion 10.7.x or doesn't work with the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, or only works with a nec/renasus chip, etc.

Here's what I did to get it working on my machine:

1. Buy and install this StarTech PCIe card from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Express-SuperSpeed-Adapter-PEXUSB3S2/dp/B002XVVIQE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361917090&sr=8-1&keywords=startech+usb+3.0

2. Install the Sonnet USB 3.0 Drivers from their website (also attached): http://www.sonnettech.com/support/kb/kb.php?cat=416&expand=_a3&action=b569#b569

3. Reboot your machine.

4. Place Kext Beast on your desktop: http://www.tonymacx86.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=32

5. Place the attached modified Kext file on your desktop. I pulled the file from the bottom of page 10 of this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/236209-lacie-usb-30-drivers-are-here-for-os-x/page__st__180.

6. Run Kext Beast.

7. Reboot your machine and the attached PCIe card should now be good to go!

You should update your profile information to include all your system's hardware. From the look of it, you don't have one of the custom recommended builds as it indicates you installed OSX on a Dell tower. My solution isn't a silver bullet, but if you have the same hardware as I do, it's very likely it will work.

Also, if you update your hardware listing, others with a similar system will know not to try the solution I provided.

Here's how to make internal USB3 (the 2 blue on back panel) working (USB3 speed) on GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 rev 1.3
(i'm on 10.8.3 and bios U1L)

Download USB3_10.8.zip from here:

www.osx86.net/view/2958-asmedia_usb_3.0_chip1042_fully_working_...html

Then go to System/Library/Extensions and delete CalDigitHDProDrv.kext
(back it up just in case)

If you installed caldigit from Multibeast you have to delete CalDigitFastIO.kext and CalDigitUSBxHCI.kext also located in System/Library/Extensions.

Then install the 2 kexts from the downloaded USB3_10.8.zip. using Kext Wizard.
Repair permissions and rebuild cache also using Kext Wizard.

Reboot.

In system profiler USB Super-Speed-Bus is reported as USB2 speed (480 Mb/sec) but that's only cosmetic.
I've testet several HD's in my USB3 Sata HD docking station with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test.
