Savior... does your HD3000 still work with the new System Definition?

Looks okay, system profile detects it okay!

Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls....after changing to Mac 3,1, the POP is gone!
So you are using toledas kext and 3,1, correct?

I did use toledas' kext then replaced it with this: download/file.php?id=29819 (another kext file for my chipset) and using 3,1.

10.7.4

So updating to 10.7.4 went well. I ran a benchmark test with NovaBench and beat all my previous results.

One thing though....I can't change my desktop wallpaper. Either going through System Pref or right clicking on the image itself to make it my wallpaper....it doesn't change.

Has anyone heard of this?

Sal..

UPDATE

I have be told to re-install 10.7.4 and everything is fine. One thing I did after updating to 10.7.4 (the first time) was replace my DOCK app with a version from 10.7.1 so I get my Launchpad icons smaller. I wonder if playing with the DOCK messed up my desktop?

10.7.4 - I was afraid to try it. Maybe I'll give it a go now.

Be sure to select the correct SSDT! And run benchmark tests before and after so you know everything is okay.

Thanks. Have to prepare new unibeast just in case, and download latest multibeast. Backup with CCC. Might give it a whirl tomorrow.

It's what we love to do. :)

On another subject, my DVD burner kicks in every once in a while, it just spins for no reason and there's no disc in the tray. It's annoying and I know it shouldn't be. I tried to search on it but came up with nothing.

Nothing like that with me. Did you get the same burner? I believe mine is plugged into the third available sata port.

So I found a solution, in system preferences-->energy saver, UNCHECK 'Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when...'

DVD burner no longer spins on its own....
