Alright, leave it unplugged and just use the rear ports for now. Make sure the keyboard/mouse are NOT in the port marked for BIOS updates, and only use the USB 2.0 ports.

Done. Same error

Post screen shots of your BIOS setup - must be something in there that's missing.

Well, try disabling the ASMedia 3.1 controllers.

Also, are you on the latest BIOS for that board?

Yes first thing I did was to update the BIOS.

I did a bit of reading just now and some people claim the problem is graphics related it just happens to stop at that point which is actually a warning apparently, not an error. See this post here:

So after I disabled AS Media I got the same error. This time the Still waiting for boot device error came up after a while with just that message and the prohibit sign...

Interesting. Seems more like a KEXT issue.

Are you using Rehabman's latest kexts for the FakePCI..., etc.?

OK, re-enable the ASMedia 3.1 controllers, that's not the issue.

I looked over your kexts. I think you are missing some.

You should add those two found here that you don't have, and I believe we have an Intel ethernet, not Atheros (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
