Hi, I was wondering if I could get some help. It's been a few years since I last started a new hackintosh so I am a little rusty getting things set up. I tried using the 0.6.7 EFI attached on post #1 and ran into the first screenshot, I mostly tried experimenting with different settings to see if I could get it working and kept getting to the same point. Eventully I decided to start over and I am now on a fresh USB setup using the 0.6.8 EFI posted above as my starting point.
I used GenSMBIOS to change the PlatformInfo > Generic fields and added the following to the boot args:
Code:
-v keepsmys=1 debug=0x100 alcid=1 -wegnoegpu
and I got the second screenshot.
I looked over the info on post #4 and went through the comet lake config setup in the OpenCore guide and changed a couple of the settings to what it showed and I then got the first screenshot again.
I think I changed:
Booter > Quirks > EnableWriteUnprotector = FALSE
Kernel > Quirks > XhciPortLimit = True
Both the Screenshots are pretty similar, it's a wall of
Failed to bootstrap path: path = /some/path, error = 2: no such file or directory. Then it goes to,
apfs_module_stop:1730: unload com.apple.filesystems.apfs (remaining mem allocated: 0)
considerRebuildOfPrelinkedKernal
I have also set my BIOS to what is also recommended in #4 and in the guide and 1 area I think might be an issue is the secure boot. I am unclear if it is actually disabled or not. On most boards I am used to going into the boot menu and selecting "Disable" from a drop menu but the Z490 doesn't seem to have that option. The secure Boot line is greyed out and by default is set to "User". Reading online there seems to be various ways on the specifics of how you disable secure boot on ASUS boards, and I've tried a number of suggestions. I currently have set an admin password and then tried deleting only the PK Managment key and rebooting and deleting all the keys and rebooting and changing the OS Type to "Windows UEFI" and "Other OS" but all it does is change the secure boot to "Setup" so I don't actually know if it is disabled or not.
I am wondering what others here have done to disable secure boot on their Z490's?
