I have successfully installed El Capitan 10.11.5 using Clover, on a single monitor connected to my GA-Z170N-WIFI using internal Intel HD 530 graphics by HDMI.
When I connect a second monitor (exactly the same) to the second HDMI port, nothing happens (the monitor appears dead).
If I reboot in that configuration, very early on in the boot process (before Clover's screen comes up I think), my second monitor displays a 'white noise' display, and crackling comes out the HDMI audio. The first monitor has a corrupt screen I can eventually see a mouse pointer on (this is why I don't know whether Clover is coming up). Removing the second monitor and rebooting still leads to a corrupt screen on the second monitor. Power cycle fixes it.
I've read:

but this issue seems at least slightly different. It's as if there's a really early problem with two monitors (BIOS or Clover or similar).
Any ideas?
