I am experiencing Activity Monitor crash after updating to Sierra 10.12.4.
I noted that the crash only happens when I try to see the Energy tab.
After that, it crashed and I cannot load it anymore, unless I delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist.
Rehabman, could you please check my files and see if there is something wrong with my battery configuration?

Nothing really obvious, but maybe this new version has become more sensitive to data in DeviceName, Manufacturer, Serial, or BatterySerialNumber.

You might try some direct tweaks in ACPIBatteryManager.kext (just because this is the most direct place to manipulate those values).

Do I need to change this?

The same problem,There was a crash when using the battery today。

I did not find com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist under the /Library/Preferences

You didn't read carefully.
It is at ~/Library/Preferences, not /Library/Preferences!

Type this in Terminal and you will understand the difference:
Code:
open ~/Library/Preferences
open /Library/Preferences
