Why is it so low? Is it normal guys for a ssd sata 3 drive?
Btw write speed is 78-80mb/s

Is it connected up to a Sata3 port with a Sata3 cable ?? How much wear and tear has the drive had ??

It looks as if it does not have write permissions. If your SSD uses Sandforce controller then the Black magic speed test is useless with these.

Basically my motherboard has only sata3 ports and yes its connected also with a sata3 cable.
Yes my ssd has sand force controller 2281 if i remember right. I tested also a vertex 3 60gb ssd with the same sand force controller and it gives me the same write speed.

That 840 Pro really is the cream of the crop! I've seen some benchmarks for the
PCI-E SSDs in the Gen 2 Mac Pro and they show them reaching close to 1000 MB/s
for read and write speeds.

Impressive, how did you get that I7-4960 in your laptop and how do you keep it cool ? Since the 4960X
is an Ivy-E chip I didn't think there was a mobile version for a Macbook pro.

This one is the 4960HQ, and it's an upgrade straight from apple but it's a config order. You can check it out at the apple store. Computer doesn't get nearly as hot as my mid 2010 MacBook Pro with the 2.66ghz i7

Sorry, this 4960 is a Haswell with the built in Intel Iris Pro as well, I believe they call this pairing the "Crystalwell"??
