Phantom boot options??

Hi there. I successfully installed El Capitan using TonyMac's clover unibeast, and I just got around installing windows today. But I noticed something strange....
When I disconnected all my drives, there were still two boot options available. Both had the name "Mac OS X" on them. I was always under the impression that boot loaders lived on hard drives. But how could I be seeing boot loaders when not one disk is connected to the motherboard...
Here is what I see in BIOS, same when I press F12 to select a boot.

What's even more bizarre, is the fact that windows boot up with the apple logo, not the windows logo when my windows partition is connected.
Can someone explain this. I could just be completely wrong also..

I see the same thing on my Z77-UP5TH. I always found those annoying but have not managed to eliminate them. I'll see what somebody else posts in response.

This is the best guide I've found- boot into Clover then choose UEFI shell. Then use the bfgr command to eliminate each extra UEFI option.

1. Boot into Clover
2. Click on Clover UEFI Shell
3. Type: bcfg boot dump
4. Type: bcfg boot rm XX (where XX is 00, 01, 02 etc.. anything that's not a physical hard drive)

Thanks for the suggestions! It's completely new to me that Clover can modify UEFI/BIOS like that. Something to take in consideration...
