pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

After flipping to APFS and then rebooting, OC88 doesn't even see it, and BIOS doesn't even see the EFI. #frustrated.

I'm reinstalling 13.1 to the disk (without reformatting, so hopefully my data's all there) and then I'll update to 13.2 and hope for the best (and hope it's then bootable).

:(

M2 Pro looking better and better. :)

Is this the sabrent drive you're using ?

Believe so, yes
I would definitely go with a different drive than that. Controller is not compatible with Montery/Ventura. It's got the infamous Phison E12S. Try a WD SN570. Prices are very low right now.

1TB for $70 is an unbeatable deal.

Really weird... I thought it was just Apple Silicon Macs that didn't have EFI partition...

This is what it looks like on my Mac Studio:

If you look at /dev/disk0, you'll notice that there's no EFI partition...

However, I recently did a clean install on my HP ProDesk 400 G3 and Disk Utility did create an EFI partition when the drive was initialized as APFS...

It's the regular Rocket, not the Q version.
It's still the same Phison E12S controller. You can see from the pic on Amazon.

The first is the actual 2TB disk. It has the EFI partition, and it's FAT32. But my BIOS just won't see it / won't boot from it. But I can boot into Windows Boot Manager just fine, and I can boot from USB OC88 just fine. disk0s1, though, just won't show in my BIOS.

What do I do to fix this? Any thoughts?

Okay. It definitely has an EFI partition... So nothing went wrong with the Disk Utility initialization...

I don't know why BIOS doesn't see it. Have you tried re-copying your EFI folder to it?
