And fixing layout-id injection in DSDT to match the layout-id used by the new kext.

Yep the author said it's id 28 so I'll be good. This kext is for 10.9.4 (what I am using) whereas the other one was for 10.9.0 or 10.9.1

On another note, time machine probably won't work because I assume that with a hackintosh, you don't get the apple recovery partition. Do you have any suggestions for cloning software that will image a mac and has bootable media for the imaging?

TimeMachine works. You restore using your USB with the OS X installer.

Side note: Clover can boot the recovery partition.
