Where can I get sleep enabler for 10.6.5?

hi after the update the computer wont restart and lost audio , p55a ud3 gigabyte motherboard, ive read about roll back kext to get audio back how about to make it shut down or restart... Thanks

Just finished installing 10.6.5 (using easybeast) and it worked just as advertised, thanks again tonymac! :headbang:

Today I ordered a second 1Tb drive to do a fresh install. Should be here Friday, so I will play during the weekend and see where I go...

UPDATE: Installed the new sleepkext with KextBeast and now can restart my machine from a sleep state. THANKS!

Any news on solving the USB storage problem?

Again... thanks!

UPDATE, really good UPDATE:

SUCCESS!!!

Here is what I did tonight:

Download iBoot 2.5.2, burned CD and booted. USB drives were connected. The internal SATA CD Drive was not shown as an option to boot, only the internal HD. Went ahead and pressed enter to let it boot from the internal HD (which had working 2.6.5 with no USB storage).

Once I booted to SL, I reinstalled 10.6.5 Combo. Got an error indicating it could not install IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext. Ran Multibeast and chose the USB rollback and got the same error. SO I decided to delete the IOSUSB kext files (family and massstorage).

This time, I deleted my old multibeast and downloaded the latest version. Verified the the IOUSB files were not in the S/L/E folder, and ran Multibeast. This time I did not get any errors installing the USB rollback files.

Rebooted and it would not come up! Ahh! What do I do?

First I went to the BIOS, it looked fine, but went ahead and cleared it and re-did the recommended changes (drives to AHCI mode and power to S3 only). Then I went ahead and disconnected the 2 USB storage drives and was able to reboot. Connected the drives after the reboot and the system recognized them, both the DROBO and the 250Gb Passport! COOL.

My ethernet is running gigabit! my external USB storage drives are working! I can press a key and awaken from sleep, working! My firewire drive and iSight are working. My USB bluetooth Blue2 (orange micro) is working! My USB soundsticks work! Now if Apple would just release iOS 4.2 for the iPad... boy I will be in heaven!

I am very thankful to tonymacx86 and this forum! Thank you!

I'm asking you lot to learn to read instead of crying out for help before you've even tried to look for an answer.
Why is it always easier for five people in a row to ask the same stupid question instead of reading the answer that someone has provided earlier in the same thread? o_O

I'll explain that to you. So maybe YOU can stop making silly blanket statements and lighten up a bit.
Let's say you have a new mobo, and it has 889 audio.
If you start searching the mac boards you'll find that making it work isn't that easy. There are loads of suggestions, from voodoo to legacy and dsdt and other stuff.
Unless you know exactly what you're doing (and I for one don't) you'll wreck your system nine times out of ten using these tips, and you'll have to go through the whole dog and pony show again.
I'm on my 4th (or so) Hack, and after about 6 months on this mobo
I haven't been able to make the audio work.
Most of the time I don't even understand the answer ' specialists' give to ordinary chaps like myself when we ask. And when we say we don't some people get all high and mighty wiith comments like ' use the search' and 'learn to read'.
Do you honestly think we're just a bunch of lazy, dumb twits who enjoy asking questions we already know the anwer to ?

Sorry bout this, but guys like this swede character really get on my tits.

I have problem with the update. After the instalation I am restarting my laptop. After that I am starting Mac OS X SL and it freezes on the boot logo. The wheel is spinning and never stops.Any idea how to fix it?

...really the forum needs an FAQ on popular problems, until then I think it's reasonable for people to ask rather than wading through a 40 page thread

I haven't been able to make the audio work.

In order to get audio to work on your board you need to select the following in Multibeast:

Advanced/kexts/audio/legacyhda/alc889
Advanced/kexts/audio/applehda 10.6.2 rollback

That's it.
You may need a DSDT, I'm not sure (I wouldn't be without one) but that's easy enough - find your BIOS revision, update it if appropriate (I use revision F14), download the matching DSDT on the database, drop it on the desktop, run Multibeast and tick "UserDSDT".

Beyond that I'd start looking at something more low level, like whether the audio is enabled in the BIOS and the speaker wire plugged into the green socket.
The search function works great, that's why it listed in the FAQ: faq.php#f0r1 Please use the search function before creating a topic. The question that you ask, may have already been answered. ;)

Actually Advanced/kexts/audio/legacyhda/alc889 includes the AppleHDA 10.6.2 rollback. You will then need either a DSDT with the proper edits or HDAEnabler for the ALC889.

An interesting note:

Sometime during my effort to upgrade my ASUS P7P55D-E Pro with i7-860, my about mac correctly displayed the i7 processor. Now that I was able to fix all the issues and have a fully working system, the about mac display reverted back to say its an i5 processor!

Hello, I wanted to post my success with updating because it had me worried and a search here for my motherboard specifically turned up nothing and a lot has changed since gigabeast. Any, I had problems initially because my BIOS was old and ended up having to reinstall where i ran into problems because I utilized the wrong kexts. But now everything is working using nothing but what I got from this site: THANKS A TON!

1. Updated my BIOS to F8--easy, downloaded from Gigabyte but had to fire up the old windows laptop for extraction-WTF?! standard compression wasn't easy enough for the folks over at Gigabyte?
2. Downloaded correct DSDT here: dsdt.php
4. Used iBoot and Retail DVD as described
5. After reboot copied new DSDT to desktop and installed 10.6.5 combo update
a)Before reboot I ran Multibeast with these options checked:user DSDT, System Utilities,alc888 under kexts/audio/legacyhda,realtekr1000sl under kexts/network/realtek, IOAHCI block storage injector under kext/disk
6. Rebooted
7. EVERYTHING IS WORKING!
