What temperatures do you get? Is 4,2 ghz with the Noctua stable (for 3d rendering)?

Can you give me a good bench test, so I can monitor the temps?
After 2 runs of cpu bench in CB, it's still 37°C.
After encode of a DVD in Handbrake to MKV, I get around 260fps average and temps remain below 45°C (in iStat Pro).
I don't know if those temps are accurate, but everything remains stable and CPU-fan doesn't go airplane-mode...
I have it on PWM standard.

My build is ok, only sound is the problem!

Is there any way to get it to work on a X79 UD5?

Voodoo 2.7.2 gives me a KP...

You could google for VoodooLaucher, wich is a workaround for the KP.
I'm currently trying to get AppleHDA patched, but this is still work in progress.

Define freezes... Have you checked your logs in console (i.e. CrashReporter)?
Wich BIOS do you have? I noticed a lot of instabilities with F8 BIOS!
Also make sure to disable powersaving settings C1/Cxx /EIST in BIOS, since they don't work with NullCPUPM.

Ok, got a stable system now!

I did something wrong initializing my 560ti.. hence the system Freez..

So I did a easybeast, system utilities, hnak's AppleIntelE100, Voodoo loader en patcher.

Geekbench only gives me 18613... not yet tried to push the cpu..

Hello folks, just built a computer with this GA-79X UD5 F9, i7 3930k, Gainward GTX580, 32gb ram (I forget the brand).

lion 10.7.3,
multibeast 4.2.1


So far...

1.
Unibeast didn't work, similar blank screen error on boot as per
viewtopic.php?f=169&t=52687

2.
I worked around it using Gordo74's xmove and rboot method as per
viewtopic.php?f=168&t=32306

3.
lion boots now, but I get "installation failed" with any of the packages, including the DSDT from pg 1. [SOLVED] Deleted backup folder from desktop as per, DSDT from pg 1 now installs http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=2 ... 8&start=10

4.
installed some drivers, although I forget which exactly, I tried to match it to my board, so nvidia gfx, intel ACL 8.x sound, network hank's AppleIntelE100, the repair permissions thing

now I hang on a whitescreen with apple logo on boot similar to this person...

5. up and running again, struggling with gfx and sound.

Dunno, did you install my temporary test DSDT?
My temps are 36/39°C when not encoding or so, just posting, surfing... OC'ed to 4,2Ghz and using my Noctua... Really quiet
