Hi,

Update 1st December 2011:

Installation:
- create USB via UniBeast
- start via UniBeast USB and start the USB installer via "-x -v"
- use an USB keyboard and mouse during installation
- after successful installation start again from the UniBeast USB and start the installed Lion via "-x -v"
- copy the attached fixed DSDT (DualLink fix for 1600x900 displays) on the desktop
- start newest MultiBeast 4.1 and select the following things:
- User DSDT
- NullCPUPowerManagement
- PS2 Mice and Keyboard
- hnaks AppleIntelE1000
- Chimera 1.6
- MacBookPro 8.1 Definition
- tonymacx86 remix theme
- Kext Utility

- install AppleHDADisabler and after reboot (to avoid kernel panic) the attached VoodooHDA
- now you can start your Hackintosh from the HDD without the UniBeast USB

working:
- I get full resoultion and QE/CI for the built in HD3000
- Bluetooth is working OOB
- LAN is working with AppleIntelE1000 kext
- Touchpad (easy gestures) and Keyboard is working with PS2 kext
- mute button
- volume buttons (FN + F6/F7)

not working:
- wireless lan - no kext for Broadcom 4313 VEN_14E4 DEV_4727
- sleep is not working

System:
- Core i5-2520M
- 1x4096MB
- Intel GMA 3000HD (ID 0126) (VGA and DisplayPort Connector)
- Chipset: Mobile Intel® HM65 Express
- UMTS Modem recognized out of the box but not tested yet
- WLAN no kext (BCM4313 DEV ID 4727)

MaLd0n fixed the DSDT for me.

I hope that we can get the rest working together.

Regards Stephan

Re: HP ProBook 6460b installation problems

What's the problem exactly. you can't have QE/CI? Or just resolution?

Re: HP ProBook 6460b installation problems

I get either a black screen with backlight on or it doesn't start at all (only white lines on black background). When I start from DVD bootloader I can start Lion with -v and get 1024x768.

Re: HP ProBook 6460b installation problems

Use chimera 1.5 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes

Re: HP ProBook 6460b installation problems

I already tried this also with a fresh installation. But with this I got a black screen without backlight on.

Re: HP ProBook 6460b installation problems

I got it to work with the old Chimera v1.4.1 r887 and my DSDT.aml with DualLink Fix without modifying any Kext.
The DVI is working through the docking station. Only VGA is not working currently and DisplayPort I cannot test.

I used the mentioned DVD in this thread: http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=170&t=28214
MacBook Pro 8.1 definition and VoodooHDA

MaLd0n also fixed the DSDT for me for the newest BIOS (F.06) -> attachment

I hope that we can get it working together.

Hi, my laptop is also hp 6460b, how do you get dsdt.aml, what tools do you use? I use acpi patcher 02beta5 but failed, it's only worked for ami and aword bios I think.

Thank you inadvance.

Re: HP ProBook 6460b

Hi,

I updated the first post with the newest stuff.

Stephan

I am getting this Kernel Panic while attempting initial install. My 6460b has a i5-2410m however and I am wondering if this is the problem. I'm not good at reading these kernel panics. Any Bios suggestions?

Also With your UniBeast install did you select laptop support?

Thanks

Fixed: After much searching related to the KP I found the ram to be the culprit. I was able to grab a stick of ram from work and it booted right up into the installer.

What bios revision are you working with. I am getting a black screen after install. I am already at bios rev f20.

I was able to use 4530 dsdt to achieve boot with video support. Have you applied the updates? Were they successful? What steps did you take if so?

I was able to update, however I have some issues with the app store. Do you have any issues with the app store? I have followed to steps on here to try to get the store working with no solution.

Fixed it with http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=28477

So the only issue I now have is sleep. I can't boot on battery because its stuck in sleep mode. I ordered a wifi card that is supposedly supported by osx and the 6460b.

Thanks
