Using Clover on Motherboard
ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ????

I had little trouble installing OS X Yosemite on my ASUS Z97-A board using unibeast/chimera/multibeast (ASUS owns ASRock so imagine things should be similar). However, when I tried "upgrading" to Clover, I had a TON of trouble. I could boot to the UEFI USB, but then when the install started I would get a black background screen with a white apple and a progress bar that never moved. After 2 days of work I was able to get a solid, stable OS X Yosemite that boots UEFI with Clover. Here is what I had to do:
1) Install 10.10.1 (or I guess now 10.10.2) using the Unibeast Install guide here:

1a) I had to make some slight modifications to the above guide to get everything installed fine on my ASUS board. Check the "comments" section of my build. Specifically, on the Chimera boot screen I had to type "-x PCIRootUID=1 maxmem=4096 npci=0x3000" to prevent lock ups. I also only had 1 8GB RAM stick in during install. Also note my Multibeast setup (check your board specs for the right Realtek controller, I also needed OptionalHDAEnabler for good audio).

2) Get everything working and stable.
3) When you are ready to use Clover to boot via UEFI instead of Chimera via Legacy, go to
this Guide, BUT start at Step 4: Post Install (skip steps 1-3). I was also able to skip parts 1-3 of Step 4, because my EFI partition was already FAT32. So I would mount it first and check before going through the trouble. You can use 'Clover Configurator' to mount partitions.
4) When you reboot, go into BIOS and make sure you set the UEFI version of your boot drive to load before the Legacy version:
Make sure UEFI is an option under CSM:
And EHCI Hand-off is enabled (this may only be needed for when booting from a USB):
5) Save changes and reboot. You should be greeted by the Clover UEFI boot screen instead of the Chimera Legacy boot screen to open your already installed OS X.
Hope this helps!
