How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Thank you so much again, KGP.

I appreciate and value your time very much. I just didn't realize how much I had wrong. I do just want to mention that I purposefully took out the serials and SmUUID when I sent my EFI only because I've seen other people hide theirs. SVID support was enabled and CSM was disabled as instructed by your guide with my initial setup.

I made all of the changes you mentioned except my RAM is 2133 so I cannot run XMP.

Hopefully these will solve the USB sleep issue!

2 last questions on these changes: The boot timer doesn't seem to work when I use Default loader BOOT64.efi - any known alternative?
And I replaced FakeSMC as you suggested but now I cannot monitor my nvme temps w/o the FakeSMC_SMMSensors.kext. Any alternative there?

You rock!
Thank you and cheers

1.) I use Default loader BOOT64.efi and the boot timer works without any issues.

2.) Your EFI-Folder now contains FakeSMC.kext, ACPISensors.kext, CPUSensors.kext, GPUSensors.kext, LPCSensors.kext. That's all you need to successfully run iStat Menus 6.2. BTW.. FakeSMC.kext does not only have implications in HW-Monitoring!

It is correct not to distribute serials and SmUUID. I just mentioned the latter as you did not mention that you removed these SMBIOS credentials on purpose.

My changes should not only fix your sleep issues but also all other errors induced by you originally.

Can you guys stop posting kernel panics, which are basically not helpful at all in solving the originating problem? If you want help, provide all hardware details to your system, Screenshots of your BIOS settings, your EFI-Folder, IOREG.save and DSDT.aml as well as a "PCI" screenshot of Apple's system report.

This is the last time I am reminding all related users in providing the necessary details. Requests, missing the required information detailed above, will remain without answer from my side now and in the future.

Cheers,

KGP

I should add for all Nvidia users that there is currently no web driver for 17G3025 and I don’t know if there will be any. Also those using the USB port limit patch should wait with the update until a new patch is available.

aaaand... we're all waiting for 14.1 USB patch from you rockstar @kgp! :headbang:

Edit: It seems something is not working as usual with USB port limit patch in 10.14.1, I hope you'll post some clarifications here mate! Thanks.

Edit 2: On my Prime X299-A I got the USBX SSDT + USBInjectAll implementation: All Usb 2.0 3.0 3.1 back ports work fine, internal usb 2.0 is ok too ut front panel usb 3.1 not works... hope this will give you some basic data. I'm here if I can help, just ask!

The entire USB port limit patch approach fails under 10.14.1. No other solution than dropping the implementation of some USB ports of your choice from the board-specific XHC USB kext. Same states for Rehabman’s SSDT approach. There is not other solution. One is not able anymore to implement and use all USB ports!

I was distributing warnings that this is going to happen already quite some time ago.

Good luck,

KGP

So, if I've understood properly: it's normal that not every usb work on any mobo due to different port limit on 10.14.1 which is unpatchable. My system shuts off front panel 3.1 simply because I don't have a board specific XHC USB kext. In the end, we can only wait for some big head to solve this issue and properly patch 10,14,1 to remove this limitation. Right?

You should explicitly define in the XHC USB Kext or in Rehabman’s SSDT, which ports should be implemented by not exceedind the port limit. That’s the clean and correct solution until there is a new port limit workaround found by sombody.

@kgp I just woke the system from sleep and had the same bluetooth issue. Everything is fine but the trackpad won't move. I connected it with a cable, went to the bluetooth menu in system prefs, disconnected the cable and it still shows Bluetooth: Off but shows the trackpad as connected. Clicking Turn On doesn't do anything and neither does turning the trackpad off/on. See screen shot. This happens intermittently and randomly. Strange!

Before restarting I also grabbed a few screen shots of IOREG after connecting/disconnecting the trackpad from the cable.
