ISSUE: OpenCore bootloader options include an EFI volume that I cannot remove. Editing ScanPolicy key to remove EFI, removes other bootable windows and linux drives.

STEPS TAKEN:
1. Read this TonyMacx86 article. Based on that, tried using UEFI Shell to perform bcfg boot dump --> Result non-functional EFI; had to restore from backup.
2. Read this Dortania article about the ScanPolicy opencore key and used an online ScanPolicy generator to come up with the numbers. Attempted several different ScanPolicy numbers, including the following:
  • 0 --> shows all bootable drives, including EFI (see photo #1)
  • 33521411 (all policies enabled) --> same as 0 (see photo #1)
  • 33520387 (all policies enabled except FS_ESP; 0x00000400) --> removes all bootable drives except hackintosh (see photo #2)
  • 17760515 (OpenCore default) --> same as last one --> removes everything except hackintosh drive (see photo #2)
3. Reset NVRAM --> no effect
4. Set HideAuxilliary key to "True" --> no effect

4. Set HideAuxilliary key --> True
with latest version:

  • Added .contentVisibility to hide and disable boot entries
you need to add that (hidden) file to your BOOT folder
