Haswell I7-4770k matx motherboard buying help

Hey everyone,
Totally new here, but just bought a 4th gen i7-4770k at Microcenter for 265 otd! what a deal! Anyways this will be a music production pc and really was looking at the bit fenix prodigy m design for the case.
I was looking into the z87 mobos and the official reccomendations are for gigabyte. This is the higher end model: GIGABYTE GA-Z87MX-D3H. Anyways Im curious to hear from others if they have had success with other matx boards like asus, etc. The reason is the matx gigabyte series 8 boards do not seem inviting. I was hoping something with thunderbolt ports but not a huge deal. Anyways if anyone has had huge success with the gigabyte models let me know. I just want to get the best matx board for haswell that will work well as a hackintosh. thanks

Many non-Gigabyte motherboards will work, but will require you to patch the BIOS so that they will boot OS X. More information in these threads:
