Guide To Install Yosemite on HP Laptops with Clover UEFI

I installed Yosemite 10.10.2 today without any problem on my HP 6570b. Thanks for the guide and your efforts for the provided HP laptop support.

I still have the stock WIFI and I was browsing the internet for the BCM 4322 and 43224. Can anybody tell what's the difference/preferred one?

Update

I made inquiries as follows, asking for compatibility with HP 6570b:
1. item listed as "Broadcom 43224 BCM943224HMS 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN CARD 518434-002 For hp 6550b MINI5102",
the webshop (bin teng, Shenzhen MingZhi Technology Co., Ltd) answered:
hi dear ,

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...pter-669832-001-For-hp/330806_2036397346.html

2. item listed as "for HP Broadcom 4322 AGN PCI-E BCM943224HMS bcm4322 wireless n card 582564-002 (10074)"
the webshop (JINMIN SHI (Shenzhen Fenvi Technology Co., Ltd.) answered "it is not suitable"

Any advice?

Thanks
Believe me :)

Best choice is BCM94352HMB which gives you 5ghz (ac wifi) and BT.

There is no WiFi whitelist in your BIOS.

I assume that "Believe me" means that the card in the first option (Broadcom 43224 BCM943224HMS 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN CARD 518434-002 For hp 6550b MINI5102) will do the job.

It will work. But no 5Ghz, no 802.11ac. It also does not have bluetooth, but your laptop may have a separate bluetooth device built-in (you should verify).

Like I said and is stated quite clearly by post #1, you can put any compatible WiFi card in your laptop because your BIOS does not implement a WiFi whitelist. You do not need to purchase an "HP branded" device.

Thanks, that 's clear. I indeed have working bluetooth, so wifi only will do.

You should be certain that bluetooth is not on the WiFi board. Some laptops have it on the same PCB as the half mini-PCIe WiFi. Some have it separate. I'm not going to bother keeping track of which laptops have which configuration.

Easy way to check: Remove your existing WiFi card and see if you still have bluetooth.

Never assume anything...

Does not preserve the brightness of the screen. After the reboot is always 100% brightness. Did nothing DSDT not updated. Probably something to nvram. EC reset done. Nothing helps.
