[Guide] Sierra 12.6 on Thinkpad T430 Almost Perfect!

Hi Thiago,
Hi Rehabman,

I'm unable to get the installer running with the instructions provided. I've tried the following:
  • running with / without config.plist in installer
  • running with / without default kexts in other + of course provided ones
I've checked the attached guide by Rehabman as much as possible, and have done the below BIOS changes, besides DEP, wasn't able to find that:
- "VT-d" (virtualization for directed i/o) should be disabled if possible (the config.plist includes dart=0 in case you can't do this)
- "DEP" (data execution prevention) should be enabled for OS X
- "secure boot " should be disabled
- "legacy boot" optional (recommend enabled, but boot UEFI if you have it)
- "CSM" (compatibility support module) enabled or disabled (varies) (recommend enabled, but boot UEFI)
- "fast boot" (if available) should be disabled.
- "boot from USB" or "boot from external" enabled
- SATA mode (if available) should be AHCI

Suspecting a ACPI error, but I'm unsure how to fix it. Would be very thankful for any support given. Thanks in advance!

Your EFI/Clover is not per guide.

I doubt that your problem has anything to do with those ACPI errors as they involve battery status and I was booting up just fine with those same exact errors. I've since upgraded my T430 to High Sierra. Your current hurdle is definitely a USB thing. For starters, make sure that your installer stick is plugged into one of the USB2.1 ports on the right and NOT one of the 2 USB3.0 port on the left.

Which version of the BIOS do you have and which resolution screen do you have, standard (13x7) or high (16x9) ?

Hi Thiago, thanks for your guide, its work fine in my T430 i7.
I use your config.plist. I have some question, why I can't change my clover theme. I have add some theme in my clover/theme, and then set them with clover configurator. But when I restart, clover not loaded my new theme, its always use default theme, even I have delete default theme from efi\clover\theme folder.
I hope you have solution to change my theme
thanks

Look at your Clover bootlog.

Thanks for reply.
I've found the solution. I had checked fast boot on boot directory, after i unchek it, theme can load normally

Hi Thiago, I've used your guide for installing the Mojave beta and it works fine. Only real problem which I have with T430 with 1600x900 screen is when booting about once in five boots the screen just has "freezing" effect and the screen doesn't work and I also had this problem on High Sierra. Any external displays when booting don't have this issue. I also installed IntelGraphicsFixup.kext and Lilu.kext but they didn't help.

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

I think there's all the files needed.

I think there's all the files needed.

OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi not recommended.
See guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Your ACPI configuration is wrong.
- DropOem should be false
- FixRegions is a bad idea... remove

See guide:

Your config.plist lacks basic renames. See guide:

I still have the problem with the screen that it goes slowly white "freezes" in about one out of 5 boots. I replaced OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi with OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi and I turned DropOem and fixRegions off. Also added your hd4000 config.plist renames and other fixes to my config.
