I appreciate the changes you made so quickly to deal with the missing Bluetooth kext files and upgrading to OpenCore 0.6.8. I apologize for posting to the wrong Inspiron model forum yesterday. Though, I suspect that what I experiencing may be applicable to multiple inspiron models.
However, when I boot I end up sitting at the apple logo.
My configuration matches yours above, less the AMD Radeon R7 M445. all the firmware is up to date. I have 32GB of RAM installed. This was also done or checked:
- Reboot to BIOS Setup
- Enable Boot from USB and Legacy boot
- Disable Fast boot and Secure boot
- Disable Intel VT-d
- Make sure SATA mode is set to AHCI
BIOS Version is: 1.4.1
Note, The option for Fastboot are Minimal, Thorough and Auto; I kept it at Thorough. I also turned off all virtualization settings. Secure boot setting were already off. SATA disks were set to AHCI.
I created a USB with a FAT32 file system, and placed BigSur's (downloaded with OpenCore's provided script) BaseSystem.chunklist and BaseSystem.dmg in com.apple.recovery.boot and copied it to the USB. I also copied the EFI, built by build.sh to the USB. I did try both Linux alternatives for creating a USB and ended up with the same results stuck at the Apple logo.
The best I can tell I followed the OpenCore and your instructions to the letter. Also, this si my first attempt of trying to install MacOS on non-Apple hardware. I may have missed something. I did try to activate debug, but nothing shows up on the screen or on the USB (report file).
My only guess, at this standpoint, is something changed with OpenCore which is affecting the EFI set up.
Finally, the laptop has an empty SDD disk for MacOS, and a second SDD running Windows 10. Both SDDs are Crucial products. The USB is a PNY 16GB.
