If there is no observable effect, why do you care?
And until you analyze your EDID, you don't really know which one is correct.
Maybe 10.13 is actually showing the correct value...

Maybe you are right cause we now update from 10.12.6 to 10.13.2 on MacBook Air 11 2011 on intel hd graphics 5000 and it shows 24 bit too))

Thanks RehabMan for your work and these great guides ! got it installed on my u430 pretty straight forward.
only thing not working is the nvidia gpu. not quite sure how to understand your guide ( https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-only-ran-for-0-seconds-with-dual-gpu.233092/ ).
but if I'm not mistaken, it's just to not use the 2. gpu . right ?
is it possible to get it to work ?

EDIT: OK, never mind. found it in the Laptop-FAQs.

Nothing to do to disable the Nvidia.
It is already done if you follow post #1.

It might work with the kext linked by the FAQ.
But you will probably need to plug in a card prior to booting.
I haven't looked into it as I have no need for the card reader.

Your ACPI configuration is wrong.
Run 'make install' as per post #1.

You can use google to find the ELAN kext. It is not supported here, though, as it is closed-source, and in violation of the APSL.

I Rehabman i have launch make install but battery icon show percentage locked

Sorry for question, but I can't see this card reader kext linked by the FAQ. Do you have link for this kext or name for searching?
