I am not sure if I am setting the wrong value of ig-platform-id.

BTW, absence of ig-platform-id will trigger KP at boot time.

No idea without seeing the config.plist you're using.

Using an invalid ig-platform-id will disable the graphics drivers.

Using a correct ig-platform-id with incorrect BIOS settings may cause a KP.

Tried many possible values this weekend.

0x01620005
0x01660008
0x0166000a
0x0166000b

Turned out to be black screen with a moving cursor.

Are you using a digital connection to your monitor? VGA does not work.
Do you have 64mb IGPU BIOS setting (DVMT-prealloc).
VT-d disabled in BIOS?

0x0166000a is the Chimera default for desktop HD2500/HD4000.

CI possible. QE not.

If you have something to show different, post solution + ioreg.

Note: GT1 support was in the kexts at some point, but then went missing in later revs of OS X...
 
I am trying to set up the graphic for my i5 3450 with an HD 2500

I just installed El Capitan (with multibeast, clover and unibeast) but clover requires that I disable the intel graphics otherwise I am not able do nothing (even during the first installation).

So from System Information I see:
Graphics Display 8mb

If the guide is still valid, can someone explain me step by step (with Chameleon's Graphics Enabler? or Clover Configurator?) how to inject the ig-platform-id and the EFI device properties?

I am sorry but I tried to search but I am not able to find all the steps to follow.
 
I have complete install El Captain 10.11 with clover and update to 10.11.03 :headbang:on desktop HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF i5-3470, HD 2500 graphic work CI but QE don't work test with screensaver.
after install must be remove AppleIntelHD4000Graphics.kext is will dark screen show only cursor and AppleHPET.kext.
config.plist/Graphics/ig-platform-id 0x01660009 and Inject Intel, resolution i get 1920x1080.

Can QE patch on DSDT.aml? or edit info.plist in AppleIntelHD4000Graphics.kext?

HD2500 not supported. You can get CI, but not QE.
